Do you spray down your plants with water before harvesting?

It doesn't work that way. The mold is always looking for an opportunity to strike. If you give it the right conditions it will be too late before you can do anything. Bud rot actually starts from inside, next to the stem, where the flowers are attached. By the time you notice it the damage will be done.
 
Damn. What about foliar feeding and sprays like neem and mighty wash? Do you avoid these altogether as well because of fear of mold???
 
Bottom line is that if you get those flowers wet you can have a major problem on your hands.

I sprayed the cola of my first plant to clean some plaster dust off of it and ended up with bud rot. I learned the hard way.

Don't ever get those flowers wet.
 
Spray it down if you want. I have heard of people killing mites during flowering by dipping the entire plant into a solution of water and other stuff. Just make sure you dry it well with a good fan before chopping.
Plus, bud rot doesn't happen in one day. You don't have to worry about it cuz it will probably be chopped the day after.
 
Exactly what CC said ^^^^^ , I am one of those peolpe i have sprayed my plants all in flowering up to harvest...
Proper air flow is all needed... Good Luck & Enjoy.

Yes, this is the purpose of this particular spray. There have been mites on this plant, and although they've been dealt with for the most part, I wanted to completely clean everything off before chopping.
Humidity is under control, and I can put a fan blowing right on it so that it dries off.

Go right ahead. When I said dipping before I meant literally drowning the plant underwater for a few secs. So in your case you are just making it rain on them. The airflow after is very key. Make sure to check those tight spots on the buds for heavy moisture before the chop. I would not worry about it if I were you. Too much stress for no reason. :)

Sounds like terrible advice. People get bud rot with just high humidity conditions and plenty of air flow, let alone spraying the buds all the way until harvest.
I think you've been lucky. If you start spraying big, thick buds during flowering you're going to get bud rot, doesn't matter how much air flow you have.
People who grow outdoors have bud rot all the time and you're not going to get better airflow than the wind.

and chopped or not if its dense bud botrytis can strike even after chopping...and its like 2 - 3 days quick...so yes go ahead and risk messing it up at the very end ...its your prerogative
 
Indica dominants im sure are more prone to bud rot. Tight dense buds= no airflow in between buds.

Sativa dominants are airy and much less susceptible to bud rot.

cocakola must of been growing some sativas to pull that shit off.
 
Oh, I bath them, at least once a week. I prefer using Lever 2000, you know, so I can get all of their 2000 parts..

Hell no. I do everything within my power to remove as much humidity as I can from my plants towards the end.

So, would you also avoid using any kind of spray (like Mighty WAsh), or doing any foliar feeding for fear of mold/rot?
