Do you think Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' would be as successful if it were released today?

"Billie Jean is not my lover, she's just a girl who claims that I am the one, but, the kid is not my son.. She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son..."

Jackson won 2 Grammy's for it in 1984

How do you think that song would have done today, given todays cultural climate, and obviously minus the 3 decades old musical gap?

Considering today's pop music is generally complete auto tuned garbage, I think the song would do really well because it would be refreshing to hear something new written and performed by an artist with actual skill and musical talent.

It would still be popular though... he was the biggest super star in the world... you can see in the video people falling apart and melting just being in his presence which probably doesn't happen anymore short of 12 year old girls at a korean pop concert. Check out the bitch that loses it at the end when he's dancing... You have to remember he and Janet Jackson also were cutting edge dancers for their day.

I have to agree with Pada and Hydro they both have valid points. They were cutting edge and I loved them for that. Michael was so talented in the music industry not just a singer he was an icon minus all the craziness. ;-)

i'm just really curious as to why you know the lyrics to this song?? rather odd imo...
and big deal, an illegitimate kid.. go look at tons of other songs that were hits over the years, and if you think singing about having someone else's kid is any where near the top of crazy shit to sing about in songs, well, idk really know what to say about that..
