Hi folks,

I purchased one auto fem seed from Canuk Seeds here in Canada and received a bonus Amnesia Auto Fem as part of the order. My main order seed is doing good, but bonus seed I received died once the stem hit the air. Didn't make sense to me as the growing medium was the same. So I dredged this site and found a post from someone who said it was probably from crappy genetics.

Being a newb and doing A LOT of reading, it has become clear to me that there are many shysters out there. Does this sound like a possible shyster situation?

Thanks,

There are some review threads you can check, forums>the grow room>seed and strain reviews.
There is at least one thread for Canuk. You might find it helpful.

No,learn not to blame others for what you don't know.
Okay. As mentioned, I spent a fair bit of time looking for some kind of answer to my observations. Since it is clear you know it is not a genetic problem I would be happy to hear what you might think I encountered.

Well then, leave it to me to receive one of the rare ones. I read a very large number of posts talking about suppliers being quick to market prior to making my OP. Couple that with the fact that they threw it in for free made me a bit suspicious. Anyway, those were my thought patterns at the time...

I have my doubts that a seed bank would intentionally send you a single seed as a bonus if it knew it was a dud or bad genetics, particularly on a first-time purchase.

Sometimes seeds don't germinate or sprout.

If you have had repeated issues with them, then I'd be suspicious.

Update: This is something you should be/have taken up with them directly. They may have even sent you a couple of extra freebies as a "thanks for your understanding, and we apologize for this inconvenience.". Unlikely for just a single seed, but who knows. Some companies go out of their way to make new purchasers want to be long-time, repeat clients.

That sounds logical. Thanks.
