Doctor's rec vs state card for growing

I'm getting ready to grow outdoors again, and I've been wondering lately if its safer to have the state card if you're gonna grow just in case you have a run in with law enforcement.
I'm only planning on growing 3-4 plants, but it just seemed to me that they would listen to a state issued card compared to a rec from a MMJ doctor.

Keep yourself out of any government databases or you could become a pawn in the clash of Fed/State laws. Just keep your doctors recommendation handy. Oh and the holy trinity of, don't tell, don't sell, no smell will keep you safe and a good neighbor.

Yeah that's a good point. Where I'm at, the mayor is trying to adopt a new ordinance that would create approved zones throughout the county for dispensaries to exist. One condition of this ordinance is that the dispensaries have to require patients to have the state card to get their medicine. That can't be legal right since the state card is voluntary.

So are you growing your own or opening a dispensary or shopping at one? Your mayor's ideas have little to do with your own personal medicinal grow, right?

Yeah I'm growing on my own. I shop at dispensaries, but there is no legal zone for them to operate throughout the county so the mayor is trying to come up with a regulatory system for them.
