Does anyone know what material the Fatman used in the bottom of his tubes?

Silk screen. I wish I knew what mesh, as I'm going to need some too. When I search for silk screen I see anything from 80-235 mesh. 80 mesh would be ~177 micron according to various charts. I think the screen would get plugged in mist pretty fast and turn into an NFT with a ~100 micron droplet size, but I could be wrong.
I'm planning on hitting the local fabric store and see if I can find something in a 20-30 mesh, which would be ~850-600 micron. I don't know if the roots will grow through it or not.
Hopefully somebody who uses it already will chime in
