Does curing make buds less harsh?

I have been curing for around a week and I accidentally left my jar open for an hour because I forgot to put the lid back on. Do you think it is alright?

Also the buds are a little harsh they slightly burn the throat for a couple seconds. Do you think after curing it will be better?

Yah its fine.
Should make it smoother after a proper cure.

Only if you do it right, it takes more than tossing them in a jar.

It should get rid of getting headaches from smoking the bud

Cure is only part of the solution. A proper dry that allows all the moisture to leave the plant slowly will make for a smoother smoke and a nice fine white ash. The cure is the finishing touch on a proper dry that mellows the smoke and allows the natural flavors & aromas come to the surface & be more pronounced. Likely if you are experiencing a harsher smoke it may be due to drying too quickly.
