Does odor come back once it leaves?

Hi..just wondering if it's normal for some strains to have a strong odor in veg..and then it goes away completely? Will it come back during flowering? im debating if I should finish this grow as the plants seem to be lacking/in excess of something and as a result, plants have zero odor and while green and stretching, bud sites are not forming and leaves feel like paper? kind of like paper that has been soaked then dried?

You may have become acclimated to the odor so you don't smell it like you did at first. I would say finish the grow if possible. Learn how to take care of the plants at this stage rather than starting over and ending up in the same boat anyway.

You say bud sites aren't forming, have you switched your light cycle to 12/12? Is it completely dark for a continuous 12 hours ?

I still smell it if it was here. The plant grows in another room, and as soon as I leave my room, if there is an odor..I can smell it. Cops didn't smell it either when they showed up last weekend..and it was a few feet from where they were standing out in the open lol. lights are switched. I know the plant is missing something, or may have too much of another thing..i know I can't fix it..im just wondering if it's possible that they would grow out..produce flowers..and be kind of useless? I don't really want to waste 2 months growing them out if they won't be good. These are photo seeds..i want to restart with auto's as they are easier and don't pose the same issues.

even if bud doesn't have a loud smell,it doesn't mean it wont be good.

and I don't understand why people think autos wont pose the same problems as photoperiod.

they can also be garbage and herm.

Without trichomes on it..not sure how good it can be. The last 2 plants I grew came out the same way..my 2 biggest auto's..almost 4 oz's each..and after cutting them and hanging it..it's as if my fingers were freshly washed..no smell or stickiness after chopping 2 plants for almost 3 hours..I couldn't give a pound of it away for 200$ lol. Taste and burn is fine..but high is minimal. The reason im doing the auto's is because they are done faster..less chance for them to go bad on me. These ones I had to veg for 9 weeks because after week 6 they didn't look right..growing but the leaves were off completely..now one would have been too big to fit in it's place and the bigger the plant..the more chance there is I get problems. Auto's are done faster and stay smaller..less time or chance for them to get bad. btw..this isn't low smell..it went to no smell after 4 weeks..zero. Even my first grow was a disaster as I starved the plants..but the leaves still had a smell when touched..these look and feel like sandpaper..also not lush green. Hopefully the auto's will do better..putting them in new soil also.
