Does PH change?

Is it common for the ph to change after you get it where you want it? I use s gallon of water and have to add ph up or down almost every day. I drop three drops of this liquid tester into a vile of the water and check the color. I keep the water in a sealed gallon jug and shake up the water before I test it every time.

yeah, pH fluctuates with temperatures and as the nutrients are used up by the plant. I adjust my 5 gallon bubbleponic buckets every 2 or 3 days and it is fine. I think a little fluctuation is good for the plant because nutrients are absorbed differently at different ph's.

Why don't u use fresh water, Instead of pre mixing and storing it?

i believe hes asking if he premixes gallons or has left overs and sets to ph, will the ph change over sitting time?

it shouldnt.

ive also read to slightly shake jug when mixing. i more or less just tip it up and down a few times. vigorous shaking can cause higher ph readings.

That could be the problem. I always shake the jug really hard to mix everything up. I'm using ff liquid fertilizer.

If the nutes are stable when you seal the container as long as they are kept cool and dark they wont change much over time. Adjust the ph according to the reading you see after a few days as the chemical reactions will take a while to reach equilbrum (aka become stable)

Soil shouldn't ever dry out because it's a living thing, and like most living things, it needs water to grow and thrive. Drying out soil kills off the beneficial microbes. Without these microbes, soil is just another growing media like rockwool or coco. I like the surface of my soil to dry out to avoid fungus gnats, but otherwise I keep things pretty moist.
