dont want to stretch things

i have a 400 watt mh hortilux blue and 400 watts of 65k floro tubes on now. i'm only 3 weeks in veg and lights are on cieling about 4 ' from the top of my 6" plants to make use of whole area. i'm a little worried about stretching now. would turning on my 1000 watt hps make things worse. the area is about 5 x6.

6" doesnt sound bad for 3weeks. Whats the spacing looking like? If it is to far think about placing something under your plants to get them a bit closer if need be.
