Droopy Plants...

Hey guys awesome forum. first time post. First time grow. Not sure of how tp fix this or if I should even be tripping. I'm trying to yield high to supply myself I try to be as proactive as possible on a budget.

OK so here is my setup

-4x4 tent
-600 W HID 16/8 on/off
-(blue dream fem ) seeds from bc
-6 inch fan suction on top constantly pulling air out
-2:1 FF ocean floor:happy frog with 25% FF big grain vermiculite
-distilled water w pH adjusted to 6.2 before nutes
-fox farm line nutes w CALMAG supplemented
-electric blanket w auto off 10 hour (fixing to rig it to stay on)
-tent maintains below 90° at all times w humidity low (3 transmitters monitoring)

Alright...so I just took off 3 huge fan leaves from the bottom of the plant because they were huge and seemed to weigh he plant down and blocked most of the plants light out from the bottom. No colas were on the stem so I figured it was using more energy for maintenance than providing.

Yesterday, the plants were droopy AF and after doing the knuckle test, they were super dry (under watering)...watered the plants yesterday w 5 ml of CalMag and distilled water at 6.3...the big on didn't bounce back like I had hoped the next day...a day later, the plant the bounced back is showing some signs of drooping. Is this a classic under watering issue? I have posted pics to help out. I am trying for a SCROG. This is again my first time growing so PLEASE take that into consideration lol.

I like what you have going, couple of things to look for.

When I grew blue dream the first time, I was under a hps bulb and got a lot of stretch. Now I veg under a mh and it's a lot better.

I also don't remove leaves unless I have to, photosynthesis and all that, is what your plant uses to make energy

Are you sure it's with vermiculite? The top looks like chunky perlite. Maybe you used both? I assume you have drainage holes?

thanks for quick replies folks.

@Bareback I wasnt getting hardly ANY stretching and it seemed like the plant was majorly crowded. At first I was super hyped over the node spacing being so tight for the bushier plant. Now it seems like I have so much foliage, the plant is folding itself over and some leaves were wilting underneath the canopy. Do the leaves literally fight their way through and the leaves just eventually work out or do some strain genetics just have a tendency to over crowd. Lol before this, I had not even grown a tomato so I have researched a lot but yall are my real knowledge. I did top the plants at early age. The pic that shows the stem is what the plant looked like after pulling a bunch of smaller new growth a few days after (attempting) to mega crop branches.

I did get a MH light in the combo set up. My bigger ones are right at 5 weeks old, so I WAS going to try and save it for flowering (planned about 3 weeks from now)...do you think I will necessarily get fast Veg development from the plant over all?

@MickFoster Yes sir you caught me on that one. It is the chunky perlite from FF. The dots on the sides of the plastic pots are perforations that I made using a heated ice pick. The very bottom doesn't have any holes poked in it because the main drainage holes built in sit on the bottom majorly.

The main thing I wonder about are potentially root problems?...I don't use aqua shield but figured I transplanted very early with plenty of drainage. Any input on the idea? Going to check them again for the evening after I post this and I will give yall some pics on the update

I like what you got going on Tex, I would make a few adjustments though.
I want you to know I ain't no expert.
I use 5 gallon nursery pots with 6/7 holes around the bottom for drainage. I also use ffof, ffhf, perlite and amended with ewc, lime and great white ( just when I up pot ).

Let's see hmmm, oh yeah I veg 18/6. Running an isolating fan 24/7, I ph my water after add my nutes . So let me this on you bro, I take a 5 gallon bucket and 4 gallons water throw a air stone in add calmag if I need to, if not skip it, add grow big or tiger bloom . Bubble for 12/24 hours in-between add whatever you need to keep a check on ppm and do your ph last bubbling the whole time, hell might take 4 days, don't know what kind of pH up/dn you have but if you use the over the counter GH. It might give you issues. I have a great recipe.pm me for that.

Can you get other water besides distilled , not saying you have to have some thing else but let me in on the scoop

So here is what I see
Phing at wrong time
Not enough drainage
No watering with 10/20 % runoff checking ph and TDs in run off
Change light schedule to18/6 it's going to help build a healthy rooting system
Keep area around pots mid 70s ,canopy high70 / low 80
Veg temps and flower temps vary from season to season, humity changes a lot . if they need moisture spray em with ph be water
