i had a question. so i started an MJ grow about a month ago just for kicks, im not a heavy smoker at all the last time i smoked was maybe sept. so back in 07 i was looking for a job(was clean also) and landed a pretty good one. the company(a small one) had a pretty liberal owner who didnt care if anyone smoked pot. so i was smokin everyday then one day he sends out an emal about how the company might get some big deal and how the deal might require everyone to have drug testing done, so he sends an email out giving everyone a month in advance to not do drugs if they have been.
so fast forward 3 weeks later and although IM THINKING im clean i decide to buy a few of those home drug tests at walmart. so i test positive(at least i thought it was). start shitting bricks and see what i can do. asked a few forums and members told me if the test was spotty it probably meant i was clean(I was clean for 2 3/4 months up to this point). so to be sure i pay $50 out of my own pocket and get a test with labcorp and test clean so i am relieved. i take the drug test with the company, pass.
i later found out the 'new deal' was a sham and that the owner sold the company and im guessing drug testing was required for the new health insurance. so after i pass i start smoking again and another year later we get BOUGHT OUT AGAIN. luckily this time there was no testing as by this point there were too many to test.
but this got me thinking, should i start tokin up again? i plan on doing it when my grow is done in a couple of months. im trying to lose 20+ lbs right now and i am succeeding so far. just trying to lose all this bodyfat, get skinny and start bulking(eating to get stronger). well i was thinking the weed would help with this which is why i timed my grow to finish right when i start bulking.
what do you guys think? am i being too paranoid? how often would a company just randomly drug test for whatever reason? i dont have to worry about company buyouts anymore because we are too large to get bought out, but both times we were bought out was a little scary(especially the first). i have a pretty good job, pays pretty decent and layoffs are non-existant so i dont have to stress that. but the job market is so fucked up right now that since jobs dont pay what they used to. last thing i need is to be on job interviews telling them i was fired for failing a drug test, that wont go over well.
