Drying in the cold

So its getting cold here in the Northeast and the temps are dropping. Im planning on hanging my plant as whole without trimming anything the one place i have to hang is up in the attic. I had a reading today of 58 degrees and 45% humidity. Do you think this will be an issue as temps might even get a bit lower.

Never heard of drying outside in the cold. Let us know how it goes if you do it. I use a multi layer screen to set my buds on. Leave them there for 2 days then put the bud into a wide mouth mason jar sealed for a day or so then open to let air in and moisture out for about six hours. I repeat for about a week or so. Buds turn out great every time. Good luck and keep on toking.

It will take a while but if the humidity stays like that it should work. Slower and cooler is the best IMO just got to do the waiting. I would cut it down to at least the branches. The more snips/cut you make the faster it will dry. The stems, specially the main will hold a lot of moister which will have to go through the buds to get out. Take off all the major fan leaves too.2 days is really quick. Mine are usually about 5-8 days hanging then into jars in my drying room. Tried the cold attic last year it took 3 weeks hanging but the smell stays so pure. Fun experiment.

The cold makes them dry really quickly. 3-5 days max.

I have found the cold makes them dry slower. I can not think of how or why cold would speed up drying.

Humidity is too high IMO.

how high of humidity do u guys shoot for?? iam harvesting a kinda small plant here in a few weeks and my humidity right now is 30-45%.. colorado is dry haha.. i plan to not trim most of the plant till its done drying just to help it slow down the dry, i dont know if i should cut the plant into segments or keep it whole tho, i really dont wanna mess up this harvest.. my temps in the room i will be drying in never go below 60 and never above 70.. inless drying above my light in my grow would be better cuz i def have better air circulation in there, but RH is about the same.. let me know what route you guys would take if you were in my shoes!!!


this is the next plant i will harvest, skunkberry at day 1 of week 5.. just got to week 6 and i think she has about 2 more to go
