During 12-12 Dark, Just How Dark is Dark ???

I've read some advice saying the grow room has to be absolutely dark, like no photons for 12 hours.
But what about all the healthy plants that flower outdoors when there are lots of stars and bright moonlight cycling overhead?
Is a little bit of light leak into the grow room going to really make a difference?

I always wondered about this as well... The moon is a lot brighter then a small light in my room!looking forward for responses.

I would say it depends on the intensity of the light getting in. If it were the sun peaking into your dark flower room, I'd think it would interrupt it. What kind of light leak are you experiencing?

Not sure but if the plant is healthy, i highlyyy doubt a couple led's on power strips are going to do anything to it. think of howmuch light you need and how close it has to be to the plant before it becomes almost useless.. and thats during the day with lights designated for growing plants...

at least with autos, intrrupting the dark period shouldnt make them hermie at all if they are healthy otherwsie.

Theres a lot more Hermies out in the wild than you would ever want.. do you want to know why they are all hermies...? dark is dark unless you want hermie plants that is!

photosynthesis can only occur with certain spectrums of light, these spectrums arent present in moonlight and artifical light is typically far enough away to not matter for outdoor plants. This is also why green only light is recomended for working in the dark with plants as it isnt used in photosyntehis and wont wake the plant up
Flowering is triggered by a hormone in the plant that builds up during the dark period and is broken down during the light period, it needs to reach a high enoug level during the dark period for the plant to start flowering. Light leaks after flowering has started will cause the hormone to no longer build up to the needed level at night which can confuse the plant into thinking its missed its chance to get pollnated and it will literaly try and fuck itself causing hermies
