Dutch master zone replacement

Hello all, I have not been active here as of late but my garden has been perpetual ebb and flow tables using two part jacks hydro nutrients and dutch master zone. I just went to restock my zone online and it seems nobody is carrying it any more in the states. I buy the 5 liter jugs only and was getting it for around 70 bucks per, some sites say discontinued others only have the 1 liter

If zone is being phased out here, what is the next best product to keep my rez's clear and roots healthy? I want a product I can mix right into the water with each change and will keep things stable for 2-3 weeks. The more concentrated the better, I do not want to pay for water/filler as I need to treat roughly 1000 gallons of water every couple weeks.

I seriously appreciate the input, zone has been such a godsend for the last 5-6 years and I am not feeling great about messing with success

thanks for the suggestion, I am seeing varying dosage rates. How much should I add to a new 80 gallon rez? cheers

thanks for the effort but when you try to select the 5 liter it is out of stock. Same thing I am running into everywhere.

HTH pool shock. 0.15 g per 10 gal RO gives 1ppm chlorine. i was using at 0.30 g since I do hempy buckets and res temps get fairly high.

maybe you don't know since it wouldn't be relevant in hempies but how long does the chlorine stay in solution before evaporating out?

so id be safe to use a little over 1 gram per rez at change? That sounds wonderfully simple! Have you seen first hand or read at what concentration the chlorine starts to adversely affect the plants themselves? I'd love to eliminate algae as well as keep healthy roots but of course never at the cost of the lady's health

edit: can you send me a link to exact hth pool shock I should use for these dosages.... just looked it up and there are a few different types by hth and last thing I wanna do is overdose because the shit I bought is stronger

get an accurate digi scale. mine is good to 0.0X grams. it was only like 30 bucks. you don't want too much of the HTH for sure

i used it every res change. would work for at least a week to 2 weeks and then dump res and start again. where does it say to reapply?
zone is just chlorine. same as HTH

No. Zone is copper sulfate, might try and get just a copper sulfate base and making a stock solution.

i thought it was chloramine and copper with the copper just to help the uptake at the roots.

where did you find that it's CuSO4? the MSDS doesn't list any ingredients. just says it's a light green color with noticeable chlorine smell.

From the back of my bottle Say, Potassium Nitrate/ Copper Sulfate.

Been using this on all my clone machines and all my ebb and flow reservoirs now with great success. You use 1 OZ per 5 gallons. I actually make it a lot stronger at 24 grams per gallon then only have to use a teaspoon per 5 gallons. Works very well in both systems. Works better then H202. You need to reapply every 3 days to keep bacteria at bay. You can actually use much stronger doses if you like. City water is 1-5 PPM of chorine when you add this it only raises the PPM level of chlorine less then 1/2 a PPM. Very safe and very effective. Found my PH levels to be much more stable in my larger reservoirs compared to using 2 doses of 30% H202 per week. Its doing a better job of killing the nasties

Even so, chloramine and chlorine are different from one another. Chlorine will evaporate off after a few days - H202 does the same. Chloramine sticks around, but isn't as effective as poolshock/bleach.

I messed around with sterile for the past couple years, but now I'm back to using bennies and I couldn't be happier.

the most im gunna apply is once a week so hope it works. every 2 days is fine for one little system but not for me. i dont even visit my garden that often lol

i want my zone back damnit!
