DWC\Bubble Bucket question

I haven't been able to find an answer for my simple question... while changing your reservoir water and cleaning your bucket etc. what do you do with the growing plant? Seems like it may be a stupid question, but I've always grown in soil so I am kinda in the dark here.

Thanks!

my 5 gal bucket I use the home depot bucket head vacuum to suck out water and just replace as needed.. just slide plant over in bucket

When I did rDWC I just always had an extra bucket just like the one the plant was in so it was just A matter of lifting the net pot out of one bucket and into another. Except when the plant and it's roots get huge.. Then it's damn near impossible. Or when I'm scrogging.... also makes it damn near impossible. My solution was to drain the old water out the bottom (my buckets had fittings for use in a multi bucket system that I hooked a drain valve into), run a bit of low ppm water through the bucket to give it a bit of a clean, and then in with my new nutrient solution.
