250 watt cfl. ill be running 4 fans so temps will be ok
i think you'll be surprised at how hot that 250watt CFL will get inside a PC case.
...i personally don't like the high-wattage bulbs for a couple of reasons, first because they are so expensive and if that is a bulb with 250 ACTUAL watts then i expect it costs more than $20.00, ...if you used 10x 26watters it would probably cost about $10.00 and you'd have 260watts of actual power. (not that you could fit 10 bulbs inside a PC case mind you, i just use that number to illustrate just how little bang you get for your buck when buying high-wattage CFLs)
...then there is the fact that with a single 250watt bulb you only get the spectrum of that single bulb, if it's a blue bulb, you get all blue light, if it's red, same thing but with 10x 26watters you can mix it up so you have a more balanced spectrum over your canopy.
...and finally there is the fact that with a single bulb you have a single point of light while with 10 bulbs you are able to spread the light over the entire canopy, which btw also spreads the heat over the entire canopy making it much easier to deal with because it isn't so concentrated.
...and while not very important, with regular CFLs you won't need any wiring experience as a multi-bulb bathroom vanity fixture with splitters in them would be all you'd need.
peace, bozo
...but i still say for a PC case the PLLs are your best choice as they are available in a variety of Kelvin temps and wattages and the higher the wattage the longer the bulb, physically, my 55watters are approx.22inchs long but the 36watters are some inchs shorter. ...and being remote ballasted most of the heat is already REMOVED from the growspace.
