Edge's of leaves turning yellow

Ok, so this has been happening for afew days but I haven't had internet for afew days :wall:. My problem is that all around the edges of my leaves are turning yellow and the yellow is slowly making it's way inwards the leaves. I'm guessing it's some type of deficiency. Though I gave them some 1/4 strength Fox Farm Grow Big yesterday and gave them nutrients last friday yet they don't seem to be absorbing the nutrients. Which I guess would mean I have nutrient lock out... I P.H.'d the water and it said the P.H. was around 7.4. So would the problem be some kind of nutrient defeciency?

Nutrional Lockout is a pH problem.
A simplified definition of NUTRIONAL LOCKOUT:
Can you imagine sitting a plate before a child at dinner time, with his most favorite food, hot dogs, ketchup and french fries? But also on the plate is a major portion of steamed broccoli, which he is just not fond of and insists on nibbling on. Now imagine telling that child, "you can not eat the hot dog and fries if you do not eat all the broccoli too". NUTRITONAL LOCKOUT is when the child responds with "well then, I just won't eat!"

Most nutes are nutritionally and PH balanced. But after being in your tank for 5 or 6 days, and being eaten from for 5 or 6 days, they become imbalanced. Perhaps you are growing plants that ate all the nitrogen first and just snacked around the iron, magnesium and calcium, or visa versa. The results are discoloration in the leaves, yellowing or rust spots, or curling up of leaf tips. It also becomes apparent when your plants were consuming a gallon or half gallon of water every day in your tank, and then suddenly when you check the levels the next day, they did not drink any water at all. This is NUTRITIONAL LOCKOUT.

You need to do a serious FLUSH, skip 12 hours of feeding and re-feed, less amounts.

It looks like Mg deficency but since I already gave it nutrients and they didn't get absorbed should I flush it... and how can I get my plants nutrients now, should I foliar feed? What should I use to lower the P.H. ... sorry for all the questions I just never thought i'd have a P.H. problem :wall:

Do you have any pH DOWN? what kind of system is it? Soil or Hydro grow?
And Yes, it needs flushing.

I'm using soil... do I have to purchase P.H. down's. I heard you can just use things at home like vinegar or something bongsmilie

swag we talked before about the way you love the shit out of your plants they lack nothing if anything is off its too much attention step away let the soil dry some give your plants a chance to breath ,then look to see if they need any thing ...its a weed it would grow between the crack in your sidewalk and do fine .give it time...rob

I have left it alone for around 2 days... nothing really seems to be improving other then it's seems to be growing ALOT it looks like a completely different plant since I gave it nutes. Though the yellowing still is happening (I know it's not nute burn because the yellowing was already happening before I gave it any :?) I got some epson salt and was thinking about foilar feeding it.

Maybe your plants were jsut hungry.

For pH up and down, use a very small amount of vinegar or baking soda.

Yeah I just did a P.H. test with some filter water I had sitting out for about 3 days and it came up at around 7.0 but when I added alittle vinegar it lowered to 6.0. I wish I knew where my eye dropper was :wall:. Though I was planning on foilar feed it with 1 quart(950 ml) with 1/2 tbsp of Epson Salt to hopefully get rid of the MG deficency... would that be a good idea :dunce:. I don't think they were hungry well the might have been but the yellowing has still continued since I gave it nutes doesn't seem to really be looking better

a good idea is never do something, if you do not know what the results will be.
Check and verify first, always.

Well I checked out the grow FAQ link about MG Defeicency that rob posted and the leaves looked to have the same symptoms. The tips of the leaves are yellowing and starting to turn brown and the yellowing continues to move along the edge of the leaves. Though yellowing of the leaves could mean alot of deficencys :?. I wish I had a camera to upload a picture :wall:. I know this isn't nute burn because I had trouble with the leaves yellowing and dying ever since it got it's second set of leaves and the plant had been in low quality soil that contained a small ammount of nutrients.

one of the biggest mistakes most new growers make is to feed nutrients to a plant when something is wrong. Most of the time it is not a deficiency, especially in soil, and adding nutrients will only compound the problems.. Without pictures its tough to say exactly what is wrong but i would be willing to bet it is the ph. If i remember you said the ph was 7.4 which could be the issue. Ph your water to 6.5 next time it is ready for a watering with no nutrients. Only problem now is that depending on the amount of nutrients you added already thinking it was a deficiency you could have a salt build up in the soil. If it were me i would start with the watering 6.5 like i said and see how that goes.. next time you have an issue start with the easy fixes or things that wont compound or add to the issues. Chances are if someone is new to growing and in soil or soilless it is probably a ph issue, salt build up or over watering.

Hope im not intruding, bumping a few month old thread but i have a similar case/scenario. Single mars 300W led and plant is at least 12" from the LEDS with no signifigant heat issues from the light or room. (Temps never lower than 65-70 to as high as about 78 to 80 on occasions)
My leaves on the top of my one plant are slightly curled shaped and look to have a very lighter discoloration/shading to around the serrated area of the leaf. Its like a lighter green than the rest of the leaf. Grown in FF OF soil with PH'D 6.0 tap (distilled open air) runoff tests 6.0 - 6.5
Is this a concern? Im torn between it being normal or Okay,or just moving the light/plant further away from eachother. My other plant being a sativa is about 5 inches taller and close to nearly 9" from under the LED panel and shows no similar problems with the leaves like my indica does. Making it harder to determine if its genetic based, nutrients,or just a higher sensitivity to the LED for the one indica plant. Any help greatly appreciated!! New to being here on these forums also as well as growing so please be easy on me lol. Attached photos both with and withour flash,growlight,20171108_132124.jpg 20171108_132013.jpg and with HDR to give the most accurate look at how they appear IRL.
