Eggs and crushed egg shells in soil

Is it a good idea to mix an egg with water with the crushed egg shell and pour into soil to make plant healthier or will it damage the plant. My bottom leaves are yellowing and spreading to the top. I think the problem is lack of nitrogen. I heard egg shells release nitrogen any help would be appreciated....

also i used miracale gro potting soil can this be the cause?

I would not add egg to the soil, that would rot and invite molds and fungus as well as insects potentially, not good.
Egg shells are a natural source of calcium. and could be used. I expect the would serve best if finely crushed and composted first.

Rotting eggs do liberate sulphur dioxide however..... I'd have to study that.
