I think my buddy just has a relay before his sub panel that is hooked to a thermostat, something like that. I can have a look.

OK... my point here was.... there's no such thing as an "electrical distribution panel" with a temp cut off...(: for god sake man...that's what a breaker is...

Now...if you want an electrical switch that controls heat..That's completely different!

Ohhh I smell plastic burning already.

its kinda like that...except the relay controls fans and heaters and extra applications in your room...not the entire panel that controls everything.

Nah man....the breaker is for over current protection..the high temp shutoff cuts power to the lights if the room gets too hot.

Good laugh.

You can make one here.Just under rate the main breaker...example....main line rated for 60amp breaker...now put in a 50amp breaker. She will blow(wish my wife blew more often)before the wire heats up

Yes if I can buy one would be nice. I'm not sure on what the part is called but yes would be connected before my panel then once thermostats were set if temp exceeded setpoint it will shut down lights. Totally different from a breaker. Lol

I have a buddy who has a main panel that feeds a subpanel, between the subpanel and the main panel there is a big relay (60 amp?) connected to a mechanical intermatic timer. this was all done by an electrician. he only runs lights off the subpanel everything else off the main panel. I've seen something similar at another buddy's place, only my other buddy had 3 subpanels each with their own relay, also done by an electrician. I'm pretty sure buddy #1 said he had some sort of high temp cutoff he wanted to hook into the relay but I have not been able to talk to him about it yet.
