Enhancers, nectars, and nutrients

Looking back on how your preferred list of enhancers, nectars, and nutrients got to where it is today, did any of you start with a basic full-line like General Hydroponics' Flora Series and then just substitute particular products that might be a little better or comparable but at a better price?

I see a lot of new members reporting that they're using little more than pH'd water and a prayer. Lights have an expiration date. I'm all in, got no time to mess around.

Good evening, Many of us grow full organic which requires just plain RO or rainwater. How you feed your plants is up to you. Post more info, medium, strain, method and lights. :peace:

GH sent me a tiny bottle of stuff. I can't remember what it is. I'll get off the couch and look.

'RapidStart'

Its really good stuff. After using it I was curious to the price. It's a high end product. It's also something you won't notice unless you're use to seeing healthy plants. But Damn....it's everything you'd think it is. $$$$

I'm using everything in the GH Flora Series -- nectars, floralicious plus, silica, all of it. Currently, I try to buy 1-2.5 gallons of everything so I'm not getting hit over the head at retail. The only thing I've substituted is Mills root enhancer for GH's rapid start, because a store's been clearing their shelves at a deep discount and aren't buying more.

They work fine. Scientifically/fiscally responsibly (sort of) if I substitute another product and want to pay more, I'd try out a product one at a time to observe improvements and cost effectiveness.

I manually feed Grodan blocks in a drain-to-waste system (i.e., not autopots). I use 66" Fluence Rays. Currently, my dedicated bloom tents house 6 and 9 respectively. I top and LST the f#@k out of my plants so my canopy is low and mostly controlled. And for the first time, I'm starting bloom 7-10" from plants with room to add space as needed.

A lot of people have come full circle, starting with a dozen bottles of well marketed hype juice, and now are using simple 1 or 2 (or 3!) part mineral salt based nutrients, on the one hand, or a living soil/super soil organic mix, as the other fellow mentioned, that requires only water (because all the inputs are mixed in from the beginning). In other words, beyond a complete formula, whether conventional or organic, you won't get much benefit from "bloom boosters." However, some additional things I think worth adding would be fish hydrolysate, seaweed (I use liquid), and molasses or barley malt. I also use a mycorrhizae product and one with trichoderma and rhizobacteria-the other things I mentioned are really for feeding the microbiome. I don't think pk boosters or those products with wild claims and no ingredient lists are needed. Good luck!
