Check the eBay listing. There's a picture which lists the quantities of each wavelength. Gets a nod of approval from me at least.

Looks like a dank light to me so long as thermal management is under control. When do you need this light by, or are you just window shopping right now?

Epistar is a very good company. The real quality issue is how the lamp manufacturer powers them. Its a 120w output with 165 3w leds so its a little under powered but thats a good ratio. You can not push more then 50% power through the LED`s or they burn out or create excessive heat.

I think that's a solid starter lamp for 2-3 plants if it stays around $140 with free shipping.

wont the cheap knock offs work if the use the same dies? Will they just burn out faster? Or do they not have the right light wavelength ?

The heat sinks look pretty phat to me.

We can change the current to make sure the chip with higher wattage, but the brightness can not increase too much, we will change the current to 600ma or 650ma,but can not change it over 700ma,because it is dangerous for leds, which will produce too much heat, and the temperature will be higher, then LED's can not use for long time

...

  • If one LED broken, will it affect working of other LEDs?

A:No! It wont affect other LEDs, the others are still work. Our design is that every led has a protective diode

    .

    We provide 3 Years warranty.
  • During the warranty period, if any defects happen, please send us a picture and our engineers will analyze what happened, if necessary, we will send spare parts for free. And it will be easy for clients to replace the part according to the “repairing diagram” (which we will send to your email address).
  • Out of warranty period, our factory also can help our clients, if any parts don’t work, we will send parts without charge, and our buyers only need to pay the shipping cost.
Looks alright to me.

MadDogMc - Their efficiency would be lower I'm guessing. More heat, less light. Idk, I sort of trust them that they're Epistar, but perhaps I'm a sucker for this? Who knows.

I dont think the photos are of the same light Bumping brother....but if if it is without its 'shell on....then the thermal management shouldn't cause any issues. :)

Grrr. I actually thought this too, but then I told myself there was just some light bending going on at the corner, but now I see what you mean. The profile does look different. Well the heat sinks woulda been phat. 8/

Just remember this :
150$ is hardly the cost of :
- 1 x SK85 heatsink
-3x Recom buck drivers
&
-1x high quality Ebm papst fan ....

Just only 3 parts of a really efficient and of high quality ,led grow light ...

Now ...
Of course there are many cheap options also ....
Either from Asia ,USA or EU ...

(A really good option of decent / fine working ,cheap ,of "mainstream " quality ,led grow lights ?
Hmmm....
Who might that be ? )

Hrm. Looking at their other panels I think this company does tend to use larger heat sinks compared to what I've seen in some other panels. The picture might not be of the exact same model number, but I'm willing to bet thermal management will be similar.

Idk, I kind of like these guys, they seem pretty upstanding to me. I'd suggest that the OP contact them and feel the company out to see if he thinks he can trust 'em.

Ya I sent them a email, I also seen some of there models as well I noticed they're 240w and 180w units look like the 240w blackstar ...I'm new so I'm not good with the specs but maybe they are the same factory that makes blackstar...everything is made in china now a days ..well for the most part....

AFAIK, Blackstar doesn't use heat sinks like that, it's just a metal plate that the LED's are mounted onto with fans blowing on the plate, lol. Might be other differences, I'm not too familiar with Blackstar as I've had no interest in researching them given the reliability claims and price tag. If there are heat sinks in these panels (which is deal breaking, imo) I'd rate these higher.
