Expiration date on dispensary bud

Hi all not a question related to growing but I wasn't sure where to post and was hoping someone could answer. I was wondering if the "expiration date" on the label of bud from the dispensary is actually something to take seriously or if stored correctly it can still stay fresh for longer than that. I have some that I plan on storing in a mason jar with 62% RH packets. Not super long term like I will use it within a year. Thanks

Assuming that it is probably not a thing to mind, just lawyers being lawyers, or the state being the state.
Does it have a harvested/processed date? when does the expiration date occur?

As long as it doesn't develop mold, it will probably be "safe" to smoke indefinitely. Might just not be as fun or pleasant as an experience, at the cost of terpenes.

If think so as long as u have the humidity pack it should be fine. Dispensaries like to throw out good stuff all the time because it's no longer a mainstream strain. They also put these dates on the packages to increase there own sales. As long as it's stored in a sterile environment and has a steady rh that medicine will stay medicine. U of coarse will lose terps over time but if stored correctly u won't lose so many terps that the taste is bland or unpleasant . Even in the originally packaging of the dispo products they usually come with the humidity packs already in the jars . I've smoke 3 year old dispensary bud before because I was moving and found an 8th I had forgotten about. and didn't notice a difference.

Thx, ya that was my thoughts it's just kind of a false time constraint thing so people smoke it up fast and then buy more. I used the humi-smart packets on some homegrown before though and it stayed good for like at LEAST 6 months. The package mine came in didn't have humidity packets it was just like a big pill bottle type thing sealed with plastic wrap

I get shake like that and bud on occasion .I've honestly only noticed humi packs on the middle shelf and above . It really depends on the brand . I will say if it comes with Those packs though your prolly paying a little more than u want to. ultimately those packs are the whole secret . Shit you could even get a cigar humidor and it'll do the same thing for ya . Wine fridge ect... It's the same thing with spices in your kitchen ,good for however long there stored in a dark cool sealed condition . But the moment u leave those spices drying out the terpenes decrease and the spices are no longer as desirable because the flavors lost. With weed tho at least with me there's still use even if dried out I'm still gonna smoke it. Still gets me high .but the flavor is what changes. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that when storing weed its all up to the user on when they wanna consider the shelf life expired. For some they focus on flavor and moisture. And some only care about THC content. I personally have daily smoke that just gets me buy. Then I usually have a top shelf bud that I chose solely for flavor and terpene profile (this stuff I pamper like fine wine). The shit I'm smoking to get by I'd let sit around alot longer in worse conditions with less care.

Yea this def ain't top shelf shit lol it was some of their cheaper bud but I'm gonna be using humidity packets so I should be good. Also I'm storing less than ounce. Just needed to take a t-break so I'll probably use it within 6 months I just wanted to make sure it stayed good cuz waste not want not

If you're not going to smoke it right now, and it isn't esp. worthy of babying, might let that flower find its way into a dry smokers pocket.
Not telling you what to do, of course, but it is without a doubt, good Karma.
