fan/carbon filter

does ne one know whats the best fan and carbon filter for odor control to use on the market? lets say anywhere from 8inch-12inch

IMO, the Vortex inline fan. The only fan on the market with a 10 year warranty. For the carbon filter, Phresh Filter is definitely at the top of my list. Go to Greners.com for the best prices. Good luck.

i guess it would depend on how much air you wanted to move.

just know for fans, usually the 4",6" 8" and 10" all run on about the same amperage, therefore use the same power.

It'd be wise to buy a bigger fan than you need, and run it on a speed controller to lower the RPM's and keep it quiet.

Also, CAP ValuLine fans have a 3 or 5 year warranty and are very affordable

where is everyone bringing fresh air from, and also from the carbon filter where are you guys exhausting the air?

these are pretty vague questions. it depends on your settup. do you have a grow room, box, tent? i use a box so i bring in fresh air from outside the box from the room its in. some ppl have an entire room they often bring in fresh air from an adjacent room. some use air from outside. all you need do for "fresh air" is to exchange the air inside your "grow area" with air from another place. hope this helps a bit.

Thanks, what about the odor from the carbon filter?

Where is everyone exhausting the air from the grow room too? Isnt it exhausted from the carbon filter?

Again this depends upon your set up. If you have a sealed room and are using CO2 then the carbon filter will discharge back into the room. If you are using an interior space with no access to the outside then you will be discharging back into living space.

If you are asking what is the best way to set up a grow room then I'd say be able to draw fresh air in from the outside and discharge directly back outside.
But basics of a carbon filter is to have an inline fan SUCK air though the filter and discharge into an adjacent space indoors or out.

As far as equipment I've always used Can Fans & Can Filters
