Fan/filter combination help

First off thank you to everyone on riu. I've never posted before but I research these threads religiously and have learned a ton from everyone here. Right now I could use some help, even tho there are some rooms set up pretty close to mine none are exactly the same.

So here goes, my room is 16' x 12' with 8 foot ceilings and 6 1000 watt lights. I currently have a 12 inch vortex fan exhausting my room with a 4 foot filter that has ran its course and time to upgrade. The fan has to pull/push the air about 20 feet. Now I have the option to buy 2 new 10" phresh filters rated for 1400 cfm. $150 for both and they are brand new! Will these filters be enough or should I pass and go with another 4 foot 12" filter? Is love to save the extra money but not if it isn't going to be enough.

Hello and welcome! If you can get a sweet deal like that i would go with the 2 10inch phresh.
The way i see it, you can put 1 on 1 side of the room and the other on the oppisit side?

Should cover more ground (air) id think. Im no expert tho.

Any pics?

Sorry im assuming you are using 2 fans. If so then 1 on each side.
If you only have the 1 fan then i dont know if its possable or if it will pull enough but maybe you could use a "Y" comming off your single fan and put a filter on the 2 lines comming from the "Y"?

Make sence? This is just my own opinion i do not know if it would work. I dont see why it wouldnt tho?

Make a bit of sence?

No sir, just the 1. Yeah the Y connector makes since. My vortex is only rated at 1140 cfm so would it be worth putting both of them up? I know they would probly last longer this way but if I were to only use 1 at a time I could just switch it out after it's ran it's course. I've decided to pick them both up now just gotta decide the best way to set them up. I have an extra 10in fan laying around but I'd prefer not being Bob the builder for this project lol

Oversize the filter. Like a six inch fan run an eight or ten inch filter. It will last longer. I also buy bulk carbon from the hydro shop. Same as phresh. I also bake my filters.

The first time I break one down I remove the synthetic mesh liner and put metal screen in. I then can put the whole filter in the oven. 500 for a few hours. It does stink but I put an old stove in my shed.
