Fast Acting Edibles

I made a trip to Michigan last week and hit up a few dispos to stock up on my little 5mg gummies. They all had options for fast acting gummies and suckers. Naturally, I picked up about half regular and half fast acting. They start kicking in within 15-30 minutes vs 45-90 minutes. They say that's because they go through the blood instead of through the liver. I couldn't get a knowledgeable answer on why they work like that.

Are they made with tinctures instead of oils?

Did the majority of them ask for you to swish, or keep the candy in your mouth for a long time, not crunch it down? Sublingual stuff starts working pretty fast

I just got 5 and 10mg gummies and a handful of 10mg suckers. And no. The gummies, I just pop one in the mouth and chew up and swallow. The sucker, I just suck on it like you would any sicker til it's about half gone and throw it back in the wrapper. The sucker did seem to hit a little faster, bit the gummy still hits within 30ish minutes. Maybe that's because it dissolves in the mouth? Tonight, ill try to just suck on the gummy until it dissolves and see if it hits that 15 minute mark. Lol

I found this about them (assuming the brand was Wana). I don't know if others use the same technique. They claim they also don't give an edible high.

"It all comes down to a pretty simple concept. We like to call it “the oil and water problem.”
You may not know that cannabinoids like THC and CBD are actually lipids, otherwise known as fats. Your body is made of something like 70% water. Fats (like oil) and water don’t mix well. So when you ingest cannabinoids, your body has to work really hard to absorb and metabolize them.
In the case of Wana Quick Gummies, we’ve tackled this problem by harnessing an innovative new technology known as Azuca’sTiME (Thermodynamic individual Molecular Encapsulation). TiME encapsulates each tiny THC molecule in a water-soluble layer. Think of this layer as a kind of disguise that tricks your water-based body into absorbing the fatty THC molecules.
This watery disguise means the THC in Wana Quick Gummies can enter your bloodstream before it undergoes first pass metabolism in your liver. This means it hits much faster than in traditional edibles – typically between 5 and 15 minutes. But it also means that the Delta-9-THC is never converted into those more intense, body-focused 11-Hydroxy molecules.
The result? A fast-acting edible that actually feels like smoking!"

The brands I got were "Quicky" gummies and suckers and "Lume" brand gummies. Lume brand is the dispo brand. I have tried the Lume gummies and the Quicky sucker. For me, the high from both seemed very similar to the regular Lume brand gummies that I take regularly. That said, the sucker seems to hit just a bit harder. Once I finish up my last tin of regular gummies, I will be opening and trying the quicky gummies to see if it's the sucker that hits harder or if their gummies do too. The girl at the dispo said the quick acting treats her much more like a smoke high than an edible high. I don't care to smoke but it doesn't feel all that different than the normal gummies.

They encapsulate the cannabinoids with malto dextrin to speed delivery.

Easiest way to do something similar is to just mix or dissolve a little extract in a small amount high proof alcohol and consume (louche).

I have heard great things about about new cellular wafer tech that takes this to a whole new level with incredibly fast onset time and a large magnification in potency. They also supposedly maintain the "feels more like smoking" qualities. Unfortunately the parties that are doing the research have gone quiet, hopefully it wasn't all just a bunch of hype.

Khano nano and kushy punch are brands out in Cali who have been doing this. If I’m buying edibles it’s gonna be these two bands.

Usually you are feeling it in under 30 mins. It also leaves your system faster so it’s a catch 22.

I've noticed no difference in how long they last between the fast acting and normal gummies.

Just had half a 10mg sucker. We shall see how long it takes to hit and how long it lasts. For science.
