Feedback from the CRA: MMPR and Volcano Medic as allowable medical expense

Has anyone else contacted the CRA about the status of MMPR MM as an allowable medical expense? I noticed that the CRA website only mentions MMAR & CDSA Section 56 exemptions and has nothing about the MMPR, so I called them to ask. I did not receive an affirmative or a negative but was told to check back in January when they have posted the updated regulations; fingers crossed.

I also asked if the Volcano Medic was considered to be an allowable medical expense because Health Canada has approved it as a Medical Device (Licence No. 82405). I asked because I did not see it in their published list. The rep had to consult with someone for five or so minutes and then informed me that it would be an allowable expense if the doctor prescribed its use. Does anyone know of another vapouriser that is an approved medical device? I can't see anything else when I search http://webprod5.hc-sc.gc.ca/mdll-limh/prepareSearch-preparerRecherche.do?type=active&lang=eng.

Cannabis has no reference ID number, so it's not covered by drug plans or provincial plans. That could change as they change the regulations.

Which has what to do with tax status as an allowable medical expense? I obviously was not clear; CRA = Canada Revenue Agency. I did not start this topic to discuss reimbursement or relief through drug plans or Veteran Affairs, etc., just claiming it as an allowable medical expense on the tax return. If your response is meant to help with that, I need more details.
