few new questions!!!!!!!

i have a small seedling right now under a high bay 400w hps it just grew its 2nd set of leaves so it would go cotyledyons, then regular 1 sraight leaf ,then a set of 3 pronged leaves.well i went to check after a fertilizing and the two straight leaves just collapsed so i cut them off and the plant just looks weird with just the 3 pronged leaves on top and nothing else so will it still grow the other leaves look fine i was thinking about putting under some cfls to nurture it would that help thanks????? and advice is welcome.

I found I just agreed with both of yas about the lights,
I kinda agree that even if running a 400 over seedlings or lets say first two weeks is doable, it most certainly is not cost effective.
I have had excellent results with much less power
but iff you really get a kick or some kind of cost benifit either stronger or faster then yeah you obviously have vegged seedlings under 6K and it worked.
but I even tried out an led light with enough success to not completely discount it's usage. In fact, if you are curious to try one I got a sort of spotlight looking config of led for like $30.00 no big deal. The point is that at this stage the plants do not require as much light as they will in the future and right now is always a good time to spend a little less cash on utility bills

400 is not too much......LMAO....I did mine under a 600w...Come on...

hahahahaha you are so full of shit. you did seeds under a 600? unless it was 6 feet away i don't believe you. thats to much intensity for seeds. it will burn them once they sprout

sproutlings cant even absorb that much light. so that's a waste of electricity and a bulb.

. give plants what they need and use. a 2 foot t5 would be perfect for seeds.

You are doing clones not seeds. seeds wouldn't survive under that. . Running a 600 or 1000 for 18 hours a day is a waste of light that the seedling does not absorb. A waste of electricity and money. The money you waste replacing bulbs and on electricity. You could buy a 48 8 bulb t5 and a 24 4bulb t5 and run those and still spend less than you would spend on electricity in 2 months alone. You are the one with special needs my friend.

if you ran a 600 or 1000 bulb for 18 hours a day. you would burn through those bulbs in 6 months. if you still use them after that. they're not putting out near the same spectrum peak or lumens. That's a big waste of money.
