Few questions about cloning, please help!

I'm confused about a few things with clones. Can someone please clear them up for me?

1) Can someone take 2 clones from a plant right before its put into flower without hurting the soon to be flowering plant?

2) If clones are taken from a plant that had great genetics, would the clone produce another plant that mimiced how well the prior plant did?

3) When trying to rootclones/seedlings in rockwool could you do the following?

Stick the clones/seedlings in a seethrouh plastic container, mist the container and place plastic wrap over the top and poke holes in it. Keep a fan 5-8 feet away or air out the container a few times a day to provide decent air flow.

1) Yes you can take clones from a plant before right before flowering. I personally prefer to do it at least 2 weeks before starting flowering.

2) If grown properly, under the right conditions, yes, the clones should show the same or very similar genetics.

3) I don't know anything about cloning using rockwood.

1. Yes but there are two issues to consider. First, you want at least a couple days time to heal before flowering. Second, cutting off two growing shoots without giving the plant time to start growing new ones will deprive your harvest of two colas. If the plant already has more stalks than you want, then this isn't an issue.

2. Clones are the exact same plant as the mother.

3. -Only the top of the cloning container should be transparent.
-No fan is needed for clones unless temps are a problem. The more airflow, the tighter the lid on the cloning chamber needs to be to keep up the humidity, which defeats the purpose of any airflow not for dissipating heat.
-Never mist clones themselves. Only mist the lid of the cloning container. You want the rooting area of a clone to be slightly more moist than the rest of the plant and any water getting on them works against this. A heating pad underneath will keep up the humidity without any misting and keep the rooting areas of the clones warm and cozy.

edit: There must be enough insulation between the cloning chamber and the heating pad so it only barely makes the bottom slightly warm. It needs to be set up and given a test-run ahead of time to get the temp just right.

1.Yes it is perfectly fine, and the plant will be fine, 2 weeks before is better piece of mind tho
2.Yes thats the point! you pick your strongest super females to clone, and in the same environment will be genetically identical
3.Just use a proven method that works, no need to make some elaborate makeup when its not necessary
