I use FFOF straight, nothing extra. Will this be OK. Does anyone else use it straight out of the bag and into the pot?

Also...what shoudl my ph run off be. I just transplanted a 1.5 gallon plant into a 5 gallon pot filled with FFOF. The water was 7.0 going in and 5.0 on the way out. Is this normal?

yeah the ph dropping is normal, but you shouldve added some perlite. the soil tends to stay a little soggy without the extra perlite so be mindful of how much water to feed.

I use it straight out the bag, I add just a little bit more peralite myself, as for the PH I have to use distilled water, cause My well water goes thru a water softener and stuff, can't really help you there.

It seems to have a shit ton of perlite in it. At least thats what I thought. Also.... the largest pot I've used so far is 2 gallons but that dries out pretty damn quick. Have to feed a lot of water every night.

I don't know your set up, But the min size pots I'd use are 3 gallon, I even switched this grow to 5 gallon pots, The root systems were tight as hell last time in 3 gallons. But you should be fine right out the bag that's some kickin' soil IMO.

That's funny....I just moved up to 5 gallon pots as well. That's why now I'm a little nervous that it won't dry out enough. I think I went over kill.... I guess I'll find out.

I use it. I add more pelite. A lot of NPK. Some other goodies. I water it once a week or so and it dries out fine. I feed a quart a gallon. Whenver it is dry 2 inchs deep.

I use it right outa the bag, nothing else.

Mine doesnt even drain, its in grow beds.
I use 5 Bags of FFOF per Bed.
Water 5 gallons per bed, every 5 days.

5-5-5... thats crazy i never thought about that. Maybe my lucky number?

heres 3rd week of flowering, results seem good so far.:hump:

1-1.5 gallon pots with fresh clones, ocean forest straight out the bag, ph 6.5 water with no nutes all the way through.
Lookin sweet. So I shoudl be good with it straight out of the bag. Well. I guess I'll find out in the next couple of months.

Also.....with all you FFOF users. What is your run off PH. I'm going in at 7.0 and come out 5.0. Is this normal?

I kind of figured cause I put almost a full pot of brand new soil and it went in 7.0 and out at 5. I was like no way in hell that soil has build up. It's a couple hours old.

I went from a 1.5 gallon into a 5 gallon. :bigjoint:
