One Florida Gulf Coast University student leader has resigned and five more are in the hot seat. They are all accused of smoking marijuana during a school retreat.

Student body President Peter Ryther, student senators Rebecca Gwyn, Rafael Feliciano and Millie Ruiz, and Director Tyler Offerman are the five accused of smoking marijuana during a school retreat.

Student government Senate President Jasmine Villanueva resigned from her position Tuesday evening.

A group of fellow students say they saw the six students smoking marijuana on June 5th.

Former student body president Isaac Roman called the meeting held about the allegations "a huge waste of time."

"This is not a battle based on fact. This is an ethical and moral value. It's based on, 'if you allegedly smoked marijuana you don't deserve a position on this board.' But we live in America, it's innocent until proven guilty," said Roman.

The students are not facing criminal charges or school discipline.
