When I was a kid I used to sneak to the neighbor's house at the end of the block with my friend and steal figs. He had a giant fig tree/bush in his yard and once a year they would throw the sweetest figs I ever had in my life. Could eat them right off the tree when ripe. Brings back memories

No idea what type they are but I used to live in New York as a kid and the fig tree never died in the winter. But a really long cold snap of below 0 could kill them I think.
