I attempted my first fim 4 days ago, looking for some advise on these results so far! How do you 100% know that it worked, or long does it take to know forsure? Thank you in advance!

Hi there! You actually did a pretty darn good job imo. Do you have a photo when you performed the operation? lol Looks healthy. However, its still recovering. So go easy on it.. Your serrations are pointing downwards. How far is the light and whats the light output? You can tell its working by: The 4 biggest fan leaves on your plant, the petioles are extending outward on all 4. In search of more energy/light and they will increase girth. As they are looking to do.. Your leaf surface area will increase. The stems, shoots and inter-nodes will increase in their girth. In your 3rd photo- I would prune all the small stuff off under the big fan leaves. How wet is the soil?

Since its been 5 days since the FIM. Yes, I would prune 1st & 2nd node plant matter. They are being blocked by light anyhow and too small to matter. It will send the energy up.

6days since the fim and you can see from your OP 3rd photo, compared to todays photo: The stems have gotten thicker. The stalk as well. things are changing. How much Is it being watered currently?

Currently half gallon every 3-4 days. I’m going to add nutes this next watering.

Little over-watered. No wonder your soil looked wet to me. Thats why the leaves look a tad droopy.Hey Cannaman nice work my friend. I just done the same thing & thought the same thing as you. I got suckered in by the whole fim has less stress than topping, better yields than left alone plants etc. All of a sudden you are in a world of, So what now, what exactly am I looking for. Have I messed it up, should that bit still be sprouting etc. I done a manifold last year & all info step by step was easy to find n follow. This fim lark is like, no info, no step by step or anything. Began to wish I hadn't. My girls look like yours so maybe just maybe I FIM'd

The idea of FIMMING is that you do it multiple times to spread out the plant more just like topping without the additional stress of topping.
each new top you FIM it and go again until you’re happy with the spread you’ve created.

Thanks that's very handy info. Am I missing hitting the right pages on fim or is there hardly anything on this. I've tried many different cropping & LST techniques, over some time, with some amazing tutorials, almost fail safe all being well. But this one I'm bothered by the cloak of darkness that's been pulled over my head. Don't really know what is good or bad, or what exactly I'm looking for
That's what it says, they reckon a trimmed leaf is less stressful than completely removing the growing tip, so I've topped one & hopefully??? Fim'd the other, I was going to do a comparison, but can't find much info on Fim i.e what next, step by step guide, what to look for so a bit in the dark.

When I look closely at pic 2, I would say that you fimmed( topped) nothing except the tips of the leaves. Its been 4 days and top still looks like its in there.
You will see if it just keeps looking the same except for the damaged leaf.

The lower growth starts to grow more. That is the info. There is no day-by-day, step-by-step because nobody is gonna take a pic every day of lower growth. Fimming is just a less stressful version of topping. Topping gives you two new tops and promotes growth to the lower sites. Fimming does not. Fuck, I Missed = FIM = FIMMING. "I tried to top my plant but Fuck, I Missed and I only chopped off part of the top". ...this does not result in two new tops but still promotes growth to the lower sites.
Hopefully that clears it up for you.

"Topping gives you two new tops" that would be a first. Once my top is gone nothing else grows from it.
Fimming on the other hand , is the possibility of leaving the next set of nodes or even the 4 that are only in the bulb to begin with.

That would be a first? Sounds like you don't know how to top a cannabis plant properly. Top it once for two tops, top those again for 4 tops. Top those again for 8 tops. I have three 8 top plants in my tent right now. Get your shit together.
Fimming is not a possibility of leaving nodes, it is leaving the node, just cutting the top half of the node off, again, it sounds like you don't know how to fim properly either.
You're already way confused.
