well to start out the cabinet is 2 1/2 ft. tall x 2 1/2 ft. wide x 1 deep. its been sealed with silicone and the walls plastered with mylar. the front has double doors with weather stripping and 2 strips of painters plastic covering the cracks where the door meets the frame in efforts to maximize airtightness except for intake and exhaust. the bar the lights will mounted on in a reflector will be raised or lowered via pairs of brackets on either end of the cabinet. going with the 8500 lumens: square foot ratio and that flourescent bulbs emit 65 lumens/watt that means the required lumens would be around 21250. using the same formula 2 100watt and 1 150watt CFLs provide 22700 lumens. the lights will be powered on/off via a timer. 1 12 volt computer fan covered with light dampening vent provides intake and another fan of the same sort inside the box will provide circulation within. these 2 fans will be powered by wiring a 12 volt adapter drawing power from a conventional 120v household current. Plans for a DIY carbon scrubber have been drawn and the exhaust fan (4 in. inline round duct fan) that will push air through the filter will be controlled via a dimmer switch allowing variable power. a cabinet mounted GFCI powered by a cord plugged into a wall outlet will provide power. the GFCI is installed in hopes of tripping the grow cabinet circuit will not interfere with the rest of my house. into the GFCI will be plugged the 12 volt adapter and a cord running out of the electrical boxes that house the switch for the lights and the dimmer for the fans. all controls for the electrical apparatus will be mounted atop the cabinet itself.
the most prevalent question in my mind is this drawing enough power to arouse any suspicion?
