First AeroGarden Grow... AND ALREADY FUCKIN UP TOUGHLY

okayy whats good everybody !
im a long term stoner, first time grower so im going with the aerogarden! im probly only gonna use it for my first five seeds.. so its like this :

AG VeggiePro
Green O Matic (from greenhouse seeds co., feminized, lowryder cross)
uhh... haha... AG lights and nutrients and all that...
like i said im doing it really basic for my first grow... i couldnt get a puppy and i needed something to raise and love and a weed plant pretty fancy.

all help would be appreciated

so i germinated my first seed
dropped it in the AG little hole thingin the soil thing..and then realized i need to put a hole in it for the root to grow into
so i kind of just stabbed this fire extinguisher key into it (i was really baked btw..................................) and broke the root tip ! LOL... im going up north for the next few days and cant take my AG with me so im gonna start germinating another seed on sunday most likely... and start again tuesday night/wednesday..... so yea. advice pleaaase? how do i get the root in there without breaking it?

You've most definitely killed that one.

I suggest that you use a ChopStick and twist the most narrow end top down into the aeroGarden sponge. Twist it through gently until it completely pierces the sponge and pops out the other end.
Once your sponge is all set; restart the germ process.

AeroGarden sponges are not as forgiving as;say soil. You can gently move soil once the Long tap root is down. In the sponge, you are better off with a taproot no longer the 2CM (Not 2CM visually, 2CM Growth away from the seed). Place a germinated seed with a 2CM long taproot (Root facing down) gently into a prepped sponge. After that, your in business.
