Hello everybody, I'm starting my first ever grow and I can't wait to see what happens!

We have some pretty bangin bagseed that I'm stoked to smoke home grown, it should be quitttttte tasty:D

I have no idea what strain it is so I'm taking the liberty of naming it "Heavy Petal".

I took a plastic container with some folded up wet paper towels and placed four prime looking seeds in between the layers. They have been sitting in a drawer underneath my heated waterbed for just over 24 hours and I think they are pretty comfortable and warm.

I'll update on the setup and hopefully get some pictures sometime soon.

Thanks guys! I won't let ya'll down.

I just checked and one of the seeds has definitely cracked the shell, I'm hoping for at least 2 but hopefully 3 or 4 fully cracked seeds tomorrow morning, woohoo!

My mouth is watering just thinking about those bushy little CFL loving babies!:leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf:

How long does it generally take seeds to sprout out of soil? I have three germinated seeds in peat cups with soil under two lights and I have been spraying the top of the cups with water. Should I let the soil dry for a while or keep watering?
BTW the water I'll be using the whole time is from a natural spring in my town, Petrifying Springs, mm mmmmmm!:hump:

FIRST TIMER TO, I BOUGHT A BIG GROW UNIT AND A 400W.HPS. WITH BALLAST. PLANT'S ARE GROWING NICE CAN'T WAIT UNTILL THEY START BUDING. ANY TIPS FOR FIRST TIMER?:weed:

They'll be along in 2-3 days. I like to use a fine mist pump bottle,just keep the top layer moist. Wouldn't hurt to let them dry a little so you know where you stand. Push your finger down into the soil,you want it moist,not wet. You'll get a feel for it.

I need to figure out a good name for a bagseed plant I just started. It's 10 days old, it is 5" high and "12 INCHES ACCROSS! It looks like a cross between ancient indica and a fuckin' potato plant! The individual fan leaves are 1&1/2" across! Have been growing for 30 years and I've never seen the like...

P.S. Please God, let it be female.

I say get a fan in there and have it blow on the plants to strengthen the stems.
Mine haven't even broke dirt yet so I'm just playing the waiting game and keeping the soil moist.
Can't wait to see some real action!
I'll blow this thread up when they get growin though.

We have lift off!!! All three plants sprouted! Just checked em and two of the plants are popped out and nice and green and the other is just covered by a little soil but they are all sprouted! I'M SO EXCITED!!!! Definitely made my day!
So now the fun starts!

On another note, has anybody ever used egg shells as a source of calcium?
I read that if you crush them up into a powder and mix it with water it is a great source of calcium for your plants, plus it's organic so that's a plus.
WOOHOO!!!!!!!

Good goin',Brutal!

Knew an old lady where I grew up, she would compost egg shells and used coffee grounds. Then put it in her house plants...??? Don't know why exactly but, she had shitloads of goodlookin' plants.
