First Grow! 2 1000 watt hps over king kush, purple kush and ak-47

So I'm about half way into week 5 of my my first grow and things are coming along very nicely.

Equipment:

2 1000 watt hps lights
3x6 tray
top drip hydro with rockwool medium
CO2 system
portable AC
coco carbon filter

Clones:

4 purple kush
4 king kush
4 ak-47

I started this taking pics almost every day but lately I've been doing every few days. I'll try to get them all up tonight.

Youll love the quantums! I got 2 1000's as well and love em. Just make sure that if you ever want to run you ballast and bulbs at 50/75 percent YOU HAVE TO LET THEM WARM UP AT 100% FOR ATLEAST 10-15 MINUTES BEFORE REDUCING DOWN TO LOWER OUTPUTS. Your bulb life will depreciate like crazy if you start them on 50% or 75%

oh and food for thought....... Id use hydrotons in that grow tray. That was the roots can grow out past the cubes and not be in direct light. If you just use the rockwool cubes your plants will have a very small root space to grow in. Smaller root space=smaller plant and yield

Exaust your carbon filter out through the top of the tent as well. That big ass fan is gunna make a tsunami in your tent and the Hydrofarm AC your using will put enough air in the tent so your covered there. Id maybe go buy some tiny fans tho just to keep the air circulating in that tent and remember you dont want alot of air blowing DIRECTLY on your plants. You want a breeze

I was looking at the roots today to check for rot and they've already hit the bottom of the rockwool. I'll grab some hydrotons next time I'm at the grow shop and put the cubes on top of that.

For sure brotha and good luck with the grow! The set up looks great. Make sure to rinse the hydrotons real well before your fill the tray too if not youll get red shit all over and its nasty. Even boil them if you can. (time consuming I know but well worth it in the end) Happy Growing!!

These pics were taken today. The king kush got a nice pruning today so all the big heady buds on there can get more light.

Also trimmed a few leaves off the purple kush plants. The ak-47 is doing just fine as there's a lot of space between the nodes.

Also, all the plants have been moved to their final homes and been tied across the width of the tray. A few are tied to each other now but this will be fixed once I get more medium underneath the rockwool.

What nutes are you using??? Plants actually look like there budding like crazy but your getting leaf curl pretty bad. Lighten up on the nutes or give them one feed of ph'd water then feed then ph'd water then feed. You want to pyramid up with the nutes from mid veg on, then pyramid down from week 6-7 of bloom. You want your peak nutes around 1-4weeks of bloom. Also rockwool retains alot of salts so flush good if flavor is important

soil bro, get started on soil then it wont be hard to switch to dro since you'll know most of the basics. im not bagging on dro but its just harder to get ahang of it if your new to growing. since your banging 2000 watts mistakes mean money lost. in soil its alot more forgiving. just advice, take it how you want it.
