First Grow, A little advice could help

I am starting my first grow in a space roughly 4'w x 2'd x4'h. We run fans on and off throughout the day as dependent on the temperature and humidity in the box. Currently the vegging process is using 5 23watt and 1 65watt CFL's (5000K), which usually keeps the temperature from 73 to 82 degrees, but temps remain around 77 to 78 for most of the time.

I was wondering whether or not 250 hps would be too hot for a space like this, and if so, what you would recommend for cooling and ventilation. Also, is there a good place to purchase this hps bulb, ballast and reflector-

a 250w with a cool tube would be perfect i think. the only thing is you need a good [kinda expensive] inline fan for it.

with a 6" 424cfm good inline fan, youd be set.

Okay thats exactly what I was thinking as far as a cooling tube. I think for ventilation we are going to get a bathroom fan to a vent with a carbon filter.

just make sure the fan is enough to cool the light.

yeah i have a big fan pumping inside and im connecting a carbon filter to a bath fan to vent out. Should do the trick

How many cfm is the bathroom fan? Most I know are about 80 cfm or so, not sufficient when cooling a 250 watter in a small space as well as pushing through a carbon filter. What kind of carbon filter?

I use a fan I scrapped off a range hood for $10 that is rated 250 cfm at .1 wg and it works for my 250 watter, which is in a space approx 2.5' x 3.5' x 4'. Do not underestimate how much heat a light like that will generate in a small space! Small spaces in my experience need real strong ventilation to keep cool.
