throw a SOG in there and keep a continual harvest! go ebb and flow!

ebb and flow is good in case of emergency, lights out or some shit. you just flood the medium and depending on media it will only need to be watered only so much.

Aero, DWC, SWC, NFT/Drip are all prone to, IF IN THE EVENT the power goes out, fatal situations. Aero and NFT/Drip systems can possibly clog as well. Filters on the pumps and Filter bags for the pump can solve or help solve these fatal situations.

Aero seems to have the best explosive growth rate, with DWC being second i believe. Im guessing that may be because roots love oxygen. The more oxygen you can supply the roots, the better! I believe this is why plants ARENT overwatered in systems like DWC/SWC & Aero because the water is very aerated!

as far as the spacing issue, just using some training. If you are worried and dont want to chop off all the branches, just LST her, or perhaps use a screen of green method.

i would lollipop them, going big ass single colas with the primo buds, no popcorn here buddy.

for the sproutings and babies, they dont need much light. you are correct about going cfls, but dont use such high 100 wattage. you can also use that mh light, but give it HELLA HELLA distance. (especially if im telling you that 100watt cfl is too much)

You were of so much valuable assistance the other day I thought I would come to you again if you do not mind.
BTW. the 30 min areo project is just the ticket. have all the parts but well the pump.
but now MrMcgreggor wants to install that 1000watt light for me. and I would like to know how it is supposto go first. could you assist please?

ordered the nute monitor, it was like $140 shipped. shop around for "24-7 nutrient monitor" they are made by Control Wizard. read some reviews on this board, and everyone seems to have had a good experience with them.

and thanks for the tip about the spacing....i thought that may be an issue. this first grow im going to keep kind of small, and just in that one side of the closet. just to get my feet wet. after that i am going to build out the other, larger side of the closet for a flowering room. maybe use a bigger bin so i have have more space between the plants. and get a 400w HPS in there. if im feeling really ambitious i may try to build and ebb and flow unit in there.

can anyone explain the benefits and weaknesses of the various common hydro systems (DWC, SWC, Ebb and Flow, Drip, etc)? only reason i have considered doing a E&F system in the future is because i have seen quite a few flowering rooms do this.

i was also thinking of attaching some mylar to the top of the...well top. to bounce light back up. is this a good idea? im thinking it would give the lower branches some extra light.

also for sprouting, i was going to use three 100w CFL's, but can i just use the 250w MH and jsut give em some distance? which method would be preferable?
i did the drip feed/ DWC and i put mylar on the top of the bin and cut the holes in it are the plants are gonna pop through to reflect the light up.
heres my set up with he dwc/drip fed. 1st month is pretty much aero style helps get the roots raging.

took my pump and ran a 1/4 hose from the bottom of the bin through the handles of the bind where there should be a hole there anyways i just opened it up more. an now you have a drip feed... easy as hell to check PH if using the liquid shit. try to get black 1/4 hose if you try this helps keep the light out of the reservoir water.once the roots are about 1/2 above the water i stopped using the drip feed:weed:

heres the pics forgot to add them last post lol

and one thing about DWC that im running into now is that roots get tangled together. i have the same bin an distanced of the net pots u got, an the roots are god damn tangled.... my next attempt is gonna be taking some nylon window screen an making pouches for each net pot so i can pull each one out one by one (ex. if theres male and i want that strain) and move it to another bin with out shocking or killing them. and since mine are so close to each other i have LST them to allow space to the lower branches.

nice setup, thanks for the pics...maybe i will do that and skip the the humidity dome step, just drop the sprouts into rock wool and into the clay medium with a drip.

and dont worry about offending me by going off on tangents in this thread, as long as it contributes to the process in some way. i know i learned a lot off of tangents on other threads.
