FIRST GROW: follow my thread please

Way too tired to type out the details one would like to hear rather then just a list of everything but its like 4am, may as well wait an extra 20 mins and burn eh lol. (yes im canadian aha) but the point of this thread is for some help, i feel like my grow room isnt very organized or to its potential, i also believe i have some thrips due to me trying to revive my "second mother" i was flowering outside (wasnt sunny for like a week, soil mad infested, etc. tryed to transplant it and bring it under the 1000watt HPS after foaming it with a botanical bug repelent which probly just helped it die more or less) but thats another story, i will post lots of pics tomorrow, and my "Mi5" autogrower should be ready for harvest at the end of this month (september). i will continue to update this thread, so please feel free to follow along and help me as i progress. thanx and happy smokin, 8 more min till 4:20am lol. (oh and by the way the stuff thats highlighted in red is the equipment i got from my buddy for a half oz of premo purple kush haha )

looks like you got all the kit, look forward to see what you do with it. try using neem oil emolient at lights off for bugs.

thanx, ya i was told to use hot shot no pest strips but apparently very toxic n not exactly nessisary at this point. next someone told me find a spray that has spinosad in it which i think im going to do. im not sure if i want to try neem oil, that shit seems like such a hassle. but we will see what my friends say at the grow shop.

here are some old pics from my old setup tho, same plants but just to please the eye:

first pic: all the plants, all 3 times as big now etc etc.
second pic: 400watt MH with dome reflector over "main mother" that has 4 main tops that are all tied down and stretched out to get light to the middle
third pic: 1000watt MH (i was originally told by my friend it was a 400watt MH/HPS so i had a 400watt MH bulb in it but i noticed it was way too hot and the 7200k bulb wasnt exactly a white spectrum, hense too much power being put out so i took it into the grow shop n had it looked at, to my luck it was a 1000watt MH lol..)

i have 2 questions at the moment:

1) is it ok to continue to trim leaves on my autogrowers as they are budding, they are creating shade over lower buds and i want them to get as much light as possible. ive cut all the big leaves from stem, now ive trimmed all the ones that stick out and are blocking light, but not from the stem. already did this so kinda too late for the question but just curious if this will cause any stress or problems.

2) i have like 120 empty 500ml water bottles (what i water my plants with, will get into that later but..) i dont really want to put them out to recycling cuz this will cause heat to my house, they seem so small to use for flowering clones, and it would b pointless and a hassle in my opinion to start in them then transplant. any suggestions/comments id like to use them if i can. i originally thot i would use them as miny DWC set ups individually but that didnt work out so well with the last clone.

and ditch the sheets u need mylar since im sure u dont want to paint your walls white and if those arent sheets but are curtains over windows i hope u got the outside light completely blocked
and your soil looks very dry
and do the blue containers have drain holes

and btw u got a hell of a deal on that equipment

neem oil is fine, 5ml per 2 litres of water and a drop of dish liquid, stops pests by making them confused, they stop laying eggs, stop eating, stop malting, eggs stop hatching, should use to prevent or cure, oh and its safe.............

i talked to some friends at the grow shop and they suggested i use some doctor doom airsaul (if thats how u spell that) spray, its safe for my plants and it acts like a foam over all of them and kills anything on contact, i just have to turn the lights off so the plants can dry or it'll burn them. this i imagine will help kill everything, just not sure if it will help keep everything away, where she said neem oil would come in> ur right not exactly a hassle but as apose to foaming with an airsaul can id take the airsaul can. we will c. either way these thrips are pissing me off and i shud do something asap.

and i agree with the sheets, just put them up on the wall to help with making the area brighter, i will invest in some sort of shiny shit eventually lol.

the soil in the recycling bins is pro-mix bx.. so it has lots of vermaculite in it as apose to pearlite with the pro-mix hp.. so bad idea on my part in a sense i just filled it up with the bx and left it.. i should have put some pottery balls and pearlite in it to help with drainage and air but ya they only look dry cuz of the top, if i stick my finger in about an inch or two and still damp i leave it.. i follow my watering schedule of 3-5 days (depends on size of container) dry then food, then another 3-5days dry and water.. with the big bins i only use a litre cuz they can be damp for like a week. and i dont water till the point where water comes out the bottom, but there are a few holes ya..

u can get 52x 84 inch mylar space blankets at walmart for almost $4 thats what i use and attach with carpet tape

i purchased some Neem Oil Foliar Leaf Spray from Canadian Tire.. im thinking mayb this is the wrong "neem oil" cuz it has nothing to do with bugs on the bottle, its just for enhancing and maintaining the appearance of plant foliage - quote.. so i figured even if its not the right stuff whatever, could use it anyways to bring that "shine" back to my foliage. but i did purchase some schultz insecticide so i will give that a try for those thrips. i also got some "hot shot no pests strips" hung one in the veg. area and another in the flowering area. i will take lots of pics tomoro hopefully> gf forgot her camera at school so no dice yet.

for some reason i cant download the MSDS for the product. it doesnt giv much info on the label other then use and purpose and the website didnt say n e thing either other then the availability of the MSDS info. so if u woudn't mind checking it out and seeing if u can download the MSDS that would be awsome.

i have an oportunity tomorrow to use the insecticide spray with the lights off cuz i have an electriction coming to install some things so i may as well turn the lights off and go to work (can't have the HID lights on the plants when using the insecticide apparently cuz it will burn the plants) kinda sketchy about it becuz my grow room is attached to the room with the electrical panel but i guess it'll b ok long as the doors closed. i'll have to spray some ozium around to get rid of the smells.

has to be 100 percent pure cold pressed neem oil, pukka herbs do it in 200 ml bottles, makes litres of mix

if you make neem mix spray leaves , stems, pots, soil but avoid flowers. neem will prevent future infestations, i now use regularly from early on in growth once a week.

true ya, i figure that exactly and will bring out the shine and healthier foliage also.

about the 500ml bottles i have so many of tho, do u think i could use those to flower 5inch+ clones in? or will they get too root bound.

my original plan was to just grow each clone to around a foot. then flower, and of course the 500ml bottles wouldnt be good for that. but what about 5inch clones straight into flower?

ya makes sense. the rooting nutrients i use works amazing so it would be filled up in the matter of like a week with roots probly.

so i always have this problem with uploading pics, they are always way too big and the only way i know how to get them smaller is going on my facebook and creating a private album, then resave all the pics cuz they are smaller then upload them on here.. these were the only ones i could get on at the moment, but they are all pics of my one autogrower "Mi5" shortstuff seeds from dope-seeds.com "Mi5" stands for "My indoor 5" apparently 5 different strains of afghani or something thrown together, its suppose to have purple leaves when grown outside and be alot bigger, but mayb thats just cuz again it wasnt grown outside hense y its so small and not purple lol. i also should have put it in a bigger pot to start, i didnt get it very big in the 3 weeks of veg it had. will try again with the remaining 3 seeds, had a 4th but accidentally knocked it over and stepped on it after it was started

i will work on pics, promise.
