First grow Guitar Amp Stealth grow

Hey guys, this is my very first grow, i've been doing research for about a month, and finally i've decided to do it. I have a small guitar amp i have already converted into a grow box, ANY suggestions will help!! :)

I have a few questions to start:

1) What are some hints and tricks to keeping plants short and dense? i already LST, so anything besides that.

Also since i'm using bagseeds right now, but i was wondering if anyone knew of the STEALTHIEST seedbank online? thanks :)

1) What light cycle will help the plants stay SHORT and DENSE?

I think its more about the distance to the light than the actual cycle itself. You will want to be carefull with the seedling and not get them to close( 3-5 inches) and as they get older you can move them to within an inch without hurting them as long as you have ventilation.

18/6 seems to be the preferance for the vegatation cycle but some people also start 12/12 from seed. I think if you keep the plant as close as possible to the bulbs then they will not try to strech and should stay short and bushy. Genetics also have something to do with size so that to will determine the highth of the plant.

2) i'm using CFL's right now, but i was wondering if theres a better light that is about the SAME size as a standard CFL bulb? i'm not short on cash so anything will help.

With a box that small , cfl's are the only way to go. You would never be able to control the heat in there with anything else. Although I have been wanting to read up on LED's as grow lights but not that familiar with them.

What are you doing for ventalation? Is that a fan I see up in the left corner? If not, you are going to need an intake and an exhaust to get rid of the heat build up?

thanks a lot man. that really helped. i do not yet have fans but i'm going out to get the bigger speaker today and i will install and intake and exhaust fan.

oh and other question i have is; After i germinate the seed and plant it, how many days, roughly, will it take to break soil?

No problem! I am also a noobie to growing and still trying to workout the kink's myself. I do know that heat and lack of ventalation are a death sentence to a MJ plant. I do not have problem's with heat and light but getting the watering thing down can be a bitch. Make sure to not over water.

My experience is with bagseed only so it's not a guarantee but it usually takes between 1 and 3 days. It can take up to 10 days from what I have read up on. Just make sure the tap root is at least a quarter inch before planting and you should be OK. I wait till my tap root is at least a half inch before planting and my girls pop up over nite. I plant them in a party cup no more then a half inch deep. I also cover the top with saran wrap to keep the seed warm and it also helps to keep the top layer of soil moist. I say moist and not wet because if the soil is to wet it will cause the tap root to rot.

This forum has a wealth of knowledge and a great bunch of people willing to help. When you think you have read enough about how to grow, read more. It will only help with you grow down the line.

the amp in the pictures are NOT the amp i'm using, the amp i'm using is MUCH bigger, i'll post pictures of it later tongiht.
i'm germinating seeds, plus my buddy from the dispencery is giving me a premature :)

Also if i didnt mention it before, i will be growing these on a 12/12 light cycle so that i can add plants at any point :)

i will post pictures of my new setup with my new amp tomorrow after i have it all set up :)

what the heck is a 20/20 light cycle is this new because its new to me seems like 20hours of dark after 20 hours of light would make one stringy ass plant. but hey prove me wrong, and also may I ask why would you go and pay im sure was a decent amount of money for a guitar amp when you could buy a 4'x8' sheet of 3/4'' particle board for like 7$ and a box of some 2inch wood screws for 3$ and make yourself a pretty decent sized box for 10$ and some of your time.

Got my new growbox! :) much larger, large enough to flower a couple plants. my seeds are near done germinating and i'm going to be hanging lights and fans tomorrow.

oops i mean 12/12 :P ..

and because i need it to be stealth. plus i got it at a garage sale so it was cheap.

Hey man nice idea don`t listen to all pessimistic comments... actually i was growing in a dorm too and in a speaker growbox :D :D yield was small because i cutted off fan leaves and lower branches but it was fun :D my box were like 30x30x70cm and i was growing Nirvana's bubblelicious :D .... Yeah and i`m a guitar player too... now i have Ibanez tb50r ... its as big as pc box and heavy as shit :D the speaker is 30cm diameter... :D But im selling it tomorrow so i would have some money for new seeds and box :D ... anyway i`m ordering some regular diesel ryder`s with friends next week... :D we ordered 2 feminized seeds and no one sprouted... (we got it from other grower who maybe even gave us some shitty hemp seeds) :D now i`m going to buy like 4 regular for myself and grow it in a speaker growbox... just need to build one :D ... and what is the strain youre growing? how big is the box?

I`m experienced with growing in dorm... you will need to make the box quite so you may want to add 5volt adapter to your fans so they wont run so loud! how much light will you have? i had 3x23w 2700k CFL lights :D F*ck im so ready for my next grow cant wait when ill get my seeds :D just need to build some new growbox because the old one looks like shit and was pretty crappy! Check out my journal ;) Dorm growers unite :D Anyway im not going to live in dorms any more.... :D im going to grow at house so ill need to be extra stealth :D Ill be following your grow ;) And yeah im planning to get some seeds from those diesel ryders ;) :D i will order them from attitude seeds ;) :D

Thanks man :D, yeah your grow sounds just like mine, my box is about the height of a pc growbox but maybe a little bigger. i'm going to have hanging lights in each corner of the box so that every side of the plant recieves as much light as possible :)

I'm growing bag seeds because i cant order seeds online. because my roomies would flip their shit and sometimes they open my packages :(
