First grow, need last minutre advice before I make purchases

Hey guys,

This is my first grow of herb ever and Id say Ive done my share of reading. Im growing in a closet about 3x3x7 in size. To vent the closet Im just going to open the door a couple times a day, I know some people are going to not advise that, but I cant really cut a hole in my door and I've heard this method will work fine. I am going to need fans though, Im wondering how many would be a good number. Im thinking 3 planned on 2 clip ons and one slightly bigger ocsilating fan. For lights I plan on using the same type for both stages vegging and flowering. Im wondering for a closet grow what people would advise if I doing it for both stages. CFLs, LEDs, HIDs? I will be using mylar to cover the walls. And last just to make sure Im clear I dont need a light for germination right? Just put the seed in water until the sprout grows out then start the vegging stage is what I believe is needed. I dont need the best yielding flowers ever, just enough for medicinal use. Anyways Id appreciate any advice out there on these questions and more if you have something to add. Thanks in advance.

Not having an exhaust fan limits your options conciderably. You not going to be able to run a hid due to heat, even small cfls produce heat so you cant run too many of them either, i have no experience with leds so cant tell u much about how much heat they produce. No need to have 3 fans in their since you have no exhaust and all they will be doing is blowing hot, humid air around, 1 oscilating will be fine. Prepare for powdery mildew and good luck. If you had an exhaust I wouldnt have said any of that.

LED will produce heat to. anything that draws power will.

I know that, i just dont know how quick they would heat up his space compared to cfls cuz I dont use em.

nah man I appreciate the advice. I just dont really see a way other than that to exhaust. and I have heard that leaving the door open a couple times as ghetto as that sounds could work. I believe there are certain LEDs that are cooler, so that might be my best bet. Im going to keep reading about exhaust options though maybe something else will come up.

This is probably a really stupid idea, but I do have heat exhaust from the air conditioner( vent) in that closet. Could I some how use that for exhaust? I have no idea.
