First grow question about lighting

My first grow setup ive got 6 ww x big bud in a bubbleponics setup with a 65 watt HPS and 65 watt MH running on my veg state at 20/4 plants are growing amazingly great right now. I plan on building a new setup as I realize my space is too small and not enough lighting. im going to build a separate room for veg and flowering. Not sure what im going to upgrade my veg cycle to yet but I was wondering if a 600 watt HPS will be enough for my flowering or should I use MH as well? Im not sure if I will have enough space for both lights in my flowering room. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

a 600w should illuminate a 4x4' area, so if kept small will suffice. There's no harm in adding mh; if you're not burning, you're growing.

The light size is all about the area you're trying to cover. A 400 will cover 3 x 3 ft, a 600 will do 4 x 4, and a 1000 will go a bit bigger. Sometimes it's best to use a couple of lights to cover the area, or even a big one on a mover, depending on your setup. Knowing the dimentions of the plant canopy is key.....and not the start area, but the final area.

Make your flower room much bigger. You can veg enough plants per square foot to feed 5 or 6 sq ft in a flowering room.

I would consider a 600w dimmable ballast for the flower room, and maybe a 400 for the veg room. That way you can veg with a 250MH which is plenty, but if you ever wanted to flower in there, you can throw a 400hps in the same setup.

the setup I have in mind is 4x4 for both veg and and flower. Do you think I should go with a larger flower room then?
