first grow, seedling help

hello there...So i planted 2 seedlings and they are about a week old now. They are in 4" pots and i started them outside. its been raining like crazy here for the past several days and i'm not sure if i should bring them inside and put them under a cfl? i have recently been putting them on the covered porch so that they do not get over watered, but then they receive much less light and warmth. check out the crappy picture, hoping someone can give me advice or direction on what to do with these gals. thanks a lot

Id get them inside till the weather picks up, as there seedlings you wont need tons of light,

What wattage cfl you gonna put it under, ( make sure its day light 6500k )

im not really sure, would 26W work? I'm also wondering how close i should place them to the seedlings. thanks a lot for the help

26 w is ok. put it right up to the plants like an inch to 3 away and let the soil dry out completely till u water again? do u live in mass/new england? weve been having some constant rain all week, all summer almost

yeah im in mass, i think im going to move the whole operation inside permanently. this raining is continuing to bum me out

26W would be ok but for a short time say a week, ive had mine under a 20watt for a week and was fine, but if you could get higher wattage or even another bulb would be a lot better,, With cfls they give out small amounts of heat (compared to hps) so you can put it quite close to your seedling about 3-4 inches jus keep a daily check on it and adjust when needed,,

When the bulbs on does it give out a bright white light (that would be daylight) or is it more reddish (that would be warm white)

Daylight is the spectrum you want for veg, id say use the cfl for a week then get your hps on it, you dont want burn it to deaf.. what wattage you got on your hps??

They're seedlings!!!! They NEED good light otherwise they'll stretch, stress, hermie and or just die. They're at their weakest and need all the extra help they can get. Putting them somewhere with less light for no reason is just plain stupid.

As for the OP - i'd get some CFL's and veg them inside untill it picks up enough for flowering, then flower them outside.

ya man out door mass grows just dont produce. you cant trust it out in the woods cuz evryone either smokes or has a law book up their ass. all this muther fukin rain washes out plants and we dont get enough light. this whole past week i feel like i moved to bloody england or ireland the knid of weather were having. i think you would have better results indoors

they are seedlings but they are also in the vegetative state as soon as new leafs start growing so...

also i dont think the stress a baby plant receives has anything to do with its likeliness to be male/hermie. also i think the plant actually NEEDS the least amount of light durring this stage while it has those club shaped leafs as they have clorophyl stored untill the main leafs can produce it themselves. this dose not mean you can leave your plant in the dark and expect it to grow i just mean that the plant will continue to produce regardless of lighting because those little leafs store the main chemical reaction untill the whole plant can handle it its self

sory to pick your post apart, i just noticed a few falacies

If outside is dark and gloomy and raining then bringing em inside under a cfl is a lot better,, and at the first stages (seedling) you shudnt give em excess light there too young for that shizzle you got to break them in give it to them nice and easy for the first week then you give to em hard lool,

Slowly and gradually get the seedlings used to the light/sun, avoid overheating. After a few days the young plant will be strong enough to take full light/sun and boost.

Lol ganjman got hit twice for his post.. nutes you will get loads of different answers, im using bio-bizz collection, bio-grow for veg bio-bloom for flower and topmax to increase bud production, ( you mix them all together when in flower to make a super nute solotion lol thats what i call it anyway and im getting good results)

You buying off the net?

i guess that i wasn't planning on buying of the net, are the bio bizz products not available in stores? if not, any store product suggestions?
