First grow...

Well, it's a pretty ghetto grow, but like they say, you gotta start somewhere right? So on to my novice design, My situation is slim. I have recently moved back in with my dad since being broke sucks. So I'm confined to a closet with deminsions I'm not ever worried about. Since space is of the essence I still have to use my clsoet for clothing as well so I'm dealing with a lot of...different battles if you will.

Thus, I have chosen to use CLFs. My seeds I am attempting are germinating. Of the ones I'm attempting, 1 low girl, 1 'the church' and 6 bagseeds from some hopefully hermied chronic. So far the LG and TC have germinated and are potted and 2 of the bagseeds. The other 4 bagseeds might be duds, but at least they were 'free'. The LG has already sprouted to about an 1 inch tall, just a few days old but growth is interesting. From the last female grow I was able to be in on I saw about how fast it grew. I have been able to noticable growth several times a day. The LG and TC are females from attitude.

So of my closet, I have a shelf at the height of where a hanger bar is and a shelf above that can be moved up out of the way. The top shelf has been handy to store items on but I realised it would get in the way, but it still aids me in hangin lights too. And the last place I have is under the clothing hanging. I have 2 options...limit the clothing in the closet and allow room for the church to grow or move the auto to the floor in its own area with its own light and tie the church and any other possible females down.

The lighting is very ghetto. So far just 2 X 150 watt CFLS 2700 K hanging on a 3-way cord with plug-in recepticles from lowes. My problem is, what to do with the auto and The Church...the auto deserves 24/0 while the TC should get a different sequence, correct? And I'm interested in adding about 4 more CFLs with higher kelvin for the light spectrum, but I'm a novice indoor grower...the sun is the best free source out of all options in my opinion, but my situation doesn't allow mj to see sun really...or at least where I'm at.

The nutes: I'm interested in Jacks classic along with Jacks blossom bloom, but with a tight budget and a possibly steal of a find at lowes today, I picked up some schultz plant food plus. Its a 10 15 10 mix with micronutrients! Great so I've done an hour of homework on this bottle of green gook and have heard a lot of good and a lot of bad. And the only personal advise I got on the phone during the 30 minute ride back from lowes advised to use it during flowering.

The soil I am using is a 'seed start' by hoffman, the maker of my vermiculite and perlite. I plan on picking up some pro-mix from the same store I got those. The next thing sounds risky for a novice, but I it's the only thing I have experience in with planting other than water something everyday. I will have be transplanting to pro-mix when the auto is ready for it's 2 gallon final pot from the clay one I started it in and the rest will go from their peat pots to 2 gallon pots for final growth.

My last predicament is vacation. I am attending a music festival and a trip to the beach both in a row...together almost lol. So I will be gone for about 10-11 days tops. My Dad will surely phone me if anything starts looking bad and I trust him in so since he gave me my first plant knowledge with home landscaping.

And with a budget restraint and a crapped out cell phone...pictures are doubtful, but I will try as much as I can. I would appreciate as much advise as possible. Thanks!

Update

autoflower is doing great under the lights. about 3 inches tall, want to add more lights and a fan though to help build stem strength. Only nutrient I've added is coffee grinds to the topsoil of the autoflower.

Of the photoperiod seeds I have one green sign of life from one of the bagseeds. I should be seeing seedlings from these in the next week.

I also placed a homemade CO2 generator and have 2 extra packets of yeast for when more plants start to thrive and I have to split my grow from the shelf to the floor as well.

My other addition to the grow will be a watering stem for the autoflower. I'm attending a music festival June and will not be able to tend to my little ones. And I'm chancing it if I take a full week off right after that trip to myrtle beach. My only aid is my good old Dad. He aproves of the grow and is happy for me as well. I might have mentioned that I'd pay a credit card off for him in the long run but that's besides the point. I'm sure can tend to the watering and give the other seedlings a good misting in the morning and 2 in the evening. All seems to be going well. Only nutrient I would like to have/find in these last few days before I leave is some superthrive. By the time it arrives in the mail I will be gone. Until then, I have shopping. Please ask any questions or post comments.

Well more news, the church is doing well and has sprouted as I hoped along with 3 or 4 of the bagseeds. I upped my lighting by added 2 100 watt CFLs. I have 4 more waiting for installation but I bought the last 2 adapters they had in stock. To my suprise Wal-Mart carries superthrive so I picked a 4 oz. bottle of that up and introduced a little to their feeding. I plan to feed them superthrive every other watering until I see the results.
