first outdoor grow journal started on 4/20, help gladly accepted

So i started this on my laptop, not wanting to post it if no plants at all sprouted or made it past the first week, but now that they are growing I figured i would send it for the world to see. I'll probably need help if anything goes wrong seeing as this is my first grow, but ive tried to spend some time reading articles on growing and everthing so i guess we'll see how this goes.

4/20/13- Two seeds placed in sandwichbag with wet paper towel

4/21/13- Decision to move seed to ajiffy pellet made for tomorrow. Soil research being made, next timeprepare soil three weeks in advance; add water and till the soil so its ready.

4/22/13- Third seed added. SoilMixture; Miracle-gro starter potting soil(8quarts), pottingsoil(8quarts), Peat moss(8 quarts), Lime (½ cup), Perlite (½ cup). Fertilizer will be added once seeds sprout.


4/24/13- Oneplant sprouted, one eaten by squirrel, one unsprouted

4/27/13- Secondplant sprouted, in the same pot as first sprouter. 1 Tbsp offertilizer added, 8-?-?

4/28/13- Decidedthat plants will be named for simplicity and distinguishing plantswhen talking about them. Note they ARE just bagseed from todifferent bags, definitely different weeds.

4/29/13- newlysprouted seed moved to a separate pot, fertilizer has yet to be mixedin with the second pot. Dirt moved to cover bottom inch of sprout tohelp keep both sprouts from falling over. First sprout namedBeuhler, second sprout has yet to be named. Possibly MGK. Bothplants approximately 3” tall, only first set of leaves on each. Thanks to the girlfriend for names, thanks babe

MGK Beuhler

5/6/13- After twodays of heavy rains plants checked on once again, Beuhler and MGK have about equal growth, both on their second set of leaves and cotyledons starting to shrivel. Bad things are starting to happen to both plants. MGK has split/torn leaves on the first set. Beuhler has a stunted wilted leaf, and leaves starting to...wave..on the edges.

So I'm starting to freak out..the plants have only gotten worse and I'm wondering what could make the leaves rip and on the other plant why the leaf is shriveled, and why the leaves are waving on the edges..is it something I can fix? Help much appreciated..

Should I flush the soil then?..

Or just Hope for the best and do nothing

yeah flush..or start over...wait about a month to feed...and then start @ 1/4 strength ...

Soil already looks very wet, at night take inside and put under lights and have a fan blowing on them... Thats your only option really or grow new ones

From my imaginary experience, I would say your pot was way too big, soil looks really wet, and nutes too early. I have been successful at washing away most of the soil from the roots, and repotting in new soil, 70% vermiculite 30% potting mix.
