First run with co2 tank - questions

Hey gang,

Doing my first run with a co2 tank and a fuzzy logic controller (controller of any kind - I have used fermentation and mushroom buckets before). Wondering if you more experienced folks can help me with a few questions.

First off, I wonder if there are higher quality regulators that operate better at lower flow rates. I have a small tent so don't need a high flow. Ramping the co2 level up more slowly with the controller seems to work better for me. Running more than 1/2 to 1 will result in overshooting the upper co2 limit. The Titan regulator assembly seems decent in that it is made of brass but operates somewhat erratically at the lowest flow settings.

The other thing is that these regulator and tank assemblies are a bit noisy when they clang on and off. It s the noisiest thing in the grow closet. Fuzzy logic just makes it worse because of all the on and off switching as the co2 ramps up. I posted about this in the "neighbors can hear you" thread but no dice.

I think this can be solved with two approaches and am wondering if anyone else has solved this challenge.

First, I think the tank resonates a lot. I can even be speaking in the grow closet and hear it resonate in the 20# tank. I think a single layer of dynamat or hushmat or similar around the tank may cure this aspect. I am lucky to have a place not too far a way where I can get my own tank refilled versus exchange.

The other idea I have is to decouple the regulator from the tank using a rubber hose between the tank itself and the entire regulator assembly. This way the regulator can just be permanently mounted to a wall or something (maybe suspended on bungee cord?). Where would I find the parts do to this? Welding supply store? Not sure where to find the part for a rubber hose that screws to the tank. I think this might even make tank swaps easier in general.
