First shot at hydro

Hey just thought id share my first hydroponic experience with any of you that are interested.
Im growing some cheese strain feminised they are the two big ones, their on week 3 now, the other two are only a week old der just bagseed.
I got a 8 pot wilma der growin under a 400w MH cooltube and iv got a 600w HPS to go in for flowerin. Im using the canna terra nutrients they seem to be doin ok let me no what you think.
I need to get an air stone and water heater ill probably get them next week all in due time

Screw the airstone. Unneeded. Weight the end of your air lines and drop them in. The stones are slime magnets.

Everywhere i look on this people say an airstone is a must to prevent slime and algae, I dunno, so far i have'nt had any but im gona try change the water every couple of weeks anyway.

Plants are looking good, if you are going to add an airstone, I would add it to the res.

Nice looking grow you've got there, I've grown for yrs with a system similar to yours, never used an air stone and never had algae problems whatsoever....keep on growing my friend.

I ordered the air stone last night and got a plug in thermostat to hook up to a little heater i have so the room doesnt drop below 60 at night, its startin to get cold here and the grow is in my shed, Its only a 4x7 room so it should be ok to keep warm. Has anyone got some ideas on how i can get a perpetual grow goin wit that space? Its a small room to work wit but it takes way too long to grow start to finish so i wanna try figure somethin out. Thanks for the replys aswel ill try keep it updated as much as possible.

Just thought id give a littlie update, I finally got myself a water heater so the nutrients are at a constant 60f, I just changed the res tank wit fresh nutrients today and took a few pics the plants are starting to come along nicely im even thinkin of switchin to flower soon.
I topped the big ones bout a week ago the nodes are just startin to grow now. They filled out nicely.

Just took a few fresh pics of my plants, there five days into 12/12 now, no sign of sex yet but most the nodes are tucked in under the fan leaves, should i trim the fan leaves or just leave it be till it shows signs of bein male/female first or should i trim at all?

Iv just been checkin on my bitches and all new growth is bright yellow!! Whats the story with that? im still feeding veg nutrients, its been bout 7 or 8 days in 12/12 now and still not 1 plant showing signs of sex yet, is that a problem too?? Any help please??

Yeah still using veg nutes for the first 2 week stretch, Iv been tryin to find answers through google an it seems to be either N or zinc deficientcy PH is 6.1 until i added a bit more veg nuts last night now its 5.8 but still no change when i checked them this mornin.

Really starting to get worried now, 2 weeks and 3 days into 12/12 and not a sniff of those little white hairs, the plants are growing massive just no sign of flowers yet, i changed to flowering nutes bout 4 or 5 days ago ill attach some pics der not great quality they were takin wit the hps on but its the best i can do at the min.

Nobody has any advice?? Im completly lost to what it could be there is no light leaking into the room it will be on 12/12 3 weeks tomorro, this has never happened me before. Maybe i should just be patient but its always showed sex after a week to ten days before so im worried it could be somethin stopping it flowering.

So after a couple of nervy weeks i was just checkin the ladys and still couldnt see any hairs, so because they are so bushy i pulled back the leaves to check out the thickness of the stem and bang...I was hit wit balls everywhere, not any on the top nodes but just riddled all the way down the stem, i just hope they haven pollinated the rest, so now i know my two bagseed are male and the feminized buddha is female so far anyway hopefully the didnt get pollinated. here's some pics anyway. Gave the two i have left a hair cut too.

Hey man great set up!!! I have been following your thread. Still new to this as I am starting my first grow very soon, going to use a soil med. but i'm interested in trying out the hydro method is there any pros and cons you could share with me? also not a 100 % but I have been reading (alot) about this and I think that as long as the balls on your male plan didnt open then your fems did not get pollinated I think. If I'm wrong then please inform me. Anyways nice grow so far
