First tent setup

Went an bought my first setup today, 3x3x60 tent, 2x2 full spec light, 4inch in-line fan with carbon filter. I’m getting confused on in-line fan setup. Is it best to run the carbon filter to inline fan to exhaust out my tent or run it inline to carbon into my tent? Do I need an exhaust port and an import air exchange like that. Per nooby here. All advice appreciated!

You want the air from the tent to go through the charcoal filter in order to scrub the smell. This is usually exhausted out of the tent.
