First time 1000w grow .. light or heat stress?

Finally put together my grow space and moved my girls into their new home. Plants didn't look bad if not a little stretched, then after about an hour, they started drooping over.

I moved from 400w in veg to 1000w in the tent for flower .. too much light? The temp is sitting right around 73in the tent, and I can place my hand above canopy height and not notice a temp spike.

Should I ease them in to the new light?

Any info is welcome!

That light looks too close, even for a 600. The upper leaves will get light bleached (regardless of temps) due to light intensity. Maybe the light stress is able to give the droop but it's not something I've seen before. Are you sure they are feeding correctly?.

Well I recalibrated my EC meter to find that the plant in the picture was up around 3.2 (fuck me). I just cracked open some new nutes, and it seems my formula needed tweaked a bit.

I dumped out both resevoirs and started from scratch, hitting their personal favorites of 1.6 and a pH of 5.8. No new or worsening drooping.

The pic was at a weird angle, there is about 14 inches between the highest branch and the bottom glass of the hood. I can comfortably hold my hand as close as 8 inches from the light with no noticeable difference in temp (maybe 75f instead of the background 73f in the tent)

I'm thinking I just shocked her with that much of a spike in nutes, as the pH was the same before and after the res change. The other plant was sitting around 2.5 ec before the change, and only drooped a bit.

Yeah it looked like some kind of feed related thing, hopefully it's just that.

Heat is not the only thing you need to take into account, the light can literally be too bright or intense for the leaves. Ignore the glass and go from bulb distance to be sure. The light bleaching can also come on slowly over weeks and most of your top leaves will get messed up at the most important part. I don't know if they still call that light bleaching or some other form of leaf stress due to being over saturated.

Don't quote me but I recall something near 22 to 24" from bulb being a safe distance for 1000W. You may get away with 20" in a closed hood but you'd have to check with people who have that experience.

I raised the hood, increased my fan speeds, dimmed my light a bit to start them off, changed the res on both plants and the bounce back was astounding. It's currently lights out, but I'll have some updated pics tomorrow.

Just an update:

The bounced back pretty nicely. A few fan leaves are a bit damaged, but it looks like all of my bud sites are doing great. The pH is creeping up a bit to 6.0, I'll keep an eye on it and lower it if it doesn't equalize in range.
