First time Blue Dream... check out my setup

Hello all!
So this is my first grow. I believe I've done a decent amount of research and would like to share the progress so far for some feedback.

I constructed a grow room in my garage (house in norcal).
The room is actually more of a frame of a room. It is made up of wood 2"x4"s and measures 8'x6'x7'6". I have draped poly all around the inside from the top and down to cover the floor.

The light setup is a 1000w HPS bulb with a Hydrofarm Radiant6 reflector. I am currently contemplating purchasing a MH bulb..(worth it?) Also I covered the flange with foil paper for now and poked a few holes. Need to make ducting.

12 two gallon pots filled with a 4:1 mixture of Amazon Bloom:FoxFarm Ocean Floor. One inch of drainage rocks on the bottom.

Placed the 12 Blue Dream clones into the soil so that the top of the rockwool is barely covered by soil. The rockwool was pretty damp. I watered maybe 1/3 of what it would take to drench the pot, then sprayed water directly to the plants a little. They rested at about 65F and 70% humidity.

The reflector glass is approx 3'9" away from the tops of the plants. Just turned the light on and have it set it for 18hrs.

After 1.5 hours the temp is 80.5F at 61% humidity.

For food I got Earth Juice's Bloom, Catalyst and Grow.
From what I hear from the Greenfire guys is I shouldn't need nutes for about a month because of all the fertilizer present in the Amazon Bloom.

So what can/should I do?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Buy a 600 watt Mh fixture and reflector or t5 fixture then split the grow room in half and set up a 3x3 ebb and flood on one side and keep you hps light set up on the other side for flower because hps is a much better flower light than a veg light. also add an inline fan to keep your temps down in the small area ... just something to work toward good luck and keep up the good work

Also since this is a 80/20 S/I, what light cycle should i use? Right now im going with 17/7 or 18/6 for vegging..

I'm new as well, and I would suggest you do some LST.... Low stress training.. Easy as hell, and so far looks like I'm gonna yield a ton from my first grow. The reason I say that is because your setup and plants look similar to mine. Tie those tops down!!! You won't regret it. You will have some bushy little mother fuckers with lots of colas.

Ok 18/6 it is for now. LST looks very cool I will at least try it on a few plants if not all

Thanks for all the help so far!

you mentioned lining the reflector with foil paper? um i hope you dont catch it on fire. but you got the right stuff so far.

I would suggest against LST if you have enough grow height. LST is usually for limited grow space because it stunts the growth your better just letn veg for 6-8 weeks and then flower and you will have huge yeild from 12 plants. Uncle ben a guy on this site has a technique to get 4 main colas. let your plants grow to about 6 true nodes tall and then top the plant just above the second set of true leaves, I did this to some of mine about a month ago and all 5 recovered by the next day, now u can clearly see that each plant will have 4 colas, good luck.

Update:

So the girls have been bathing under the 1000w sun now for 12 days. They are looking good and healthy as far as I can tell.
The average height is about 11 inches. And look how stout!

I am trying to figure out now what to do for more lighting. I've seen 200w HPS bulbs at Lowe's for less than $20 each. A few of those should do.
The questions I have would be how to hook them up, how to orient them, and what cooling I need to worry about.

Also humidity floats at 50% with a humidifier. I suppose its a decent level, or should I really be striving for more?

Thanks! The bottom of the reflector glass is 3 feet from the top of the plants.

What would a good estimate be for yield? I plan on having them each about 6 feet at harvest.
The guy at the canna club told me 1-2 pounds per plants but.. that seems a stretch.
